"Hollyoaks" video clip update: Mother, may I sleep with Kieron?

You don't know how long I've been waiting to use that Tori Spelling-inspired title.

Today's Hollyoaks clip is very short, but crucial. It opens with Kieron packing up his priest paraphernalia, presumedly to send back to the church. (Although it's the kind of stuff that's just begging to be put on eBay. "Collar of disgraced priest" would fit in nicely along with the listing for "Image of Jesus on half eaten Digiorno pizza", and all the listings for Reflectoporn.)

John Paul is there to help him through it, though, and they decide that it's time to stop hiding and make their first public appearance.

Unfortunately, when they arrive at The Dog, Mercedes informs them that Myra is there. J.P. thinks it's too soon for them to deal with her, but Kieron decides to make a stand, which might be a mistake considering she's been reminding me a bit lately of Annie Wilkes (I almost expected her to begin her rant here with "YOU! YOU DIRTY BIRD, HOW COULD YOU?").

Myra comes out and starts laying in to them, but they hold their ground, and when she calls Kieron an "outcast," he jumps up and delivers an impassioned defense of their love and the choices that the both of them have made.

Obviously, they're going to continue to have problems with Myra, but at least it's all out in the open now, and I have to say, the kiss at the end is a major improvement over yesterday's perfunctory peck.

    Alright Kieron! I'm happy that he told Myra what's what. Plus that kiss was extra good. And seriously though everyone just happens to be leaving when John Paul and Kieron kiss?

    Once again, our US soaps are outdone. Love Keiron's declartion of love to Myra. JP said the same thing, but has he said it to Keiron?

    he has said "I told Steph I loved you" while they were both watching the fruit machine in the local pub and he as said (offscreen - the camera was on Niall in the hallway) that "everyone will love you just like I do" if people found out about them. (I'd hope JP loves Kieron just a bit more than everyone else in Hollyoaks does) - so that is yes or no - depending on your criteria. of course there have been plenty of physical displays of affection which, for some, say it all.*goes all cher "it's in hihihis kihiiis"*

    it's quite lame nonetheless - the kiss that is..... last ep's kiss was sooo bad... i wouldn't be complaining except that kiss at the end was very important given the drama they have been thru... i admired kieron's acting chops when he professed his love for JP (last ep) but that lame kiss seemed to have underscored his declaration - made it meaningless... Christian and Olli set the bar sooo high in showing gay affection specially through meaningful (and also ofcourse playful) kisses.... while i am an avid fan of Ollian, i still think Hollyoaks have a better storyline that that of our boys in Dusseldorf.... and very much well made and produced.... but Thore and Jo (Christian and Olli) are such superb actors and have such strong chemistry that no other fictional gay couple can compare... (i would like to say jack and Ianto but Jack can sometimes be so insensitive - although it is, as i understand, part of his character)... only Scotty and Kevin can challenge them though they are a distant second... these straight actors should understand that a kiss is not just a kiss.

    I dunno. I often get the impression that the actors pull out the big well done kisses only for important scenes and then seem to "get lazy" in the more regular scenes. It's quite annyoing. Good acting should mean that they should put the effort in consistently.

    Would be interesting to know if the actors kiss like this because they feel uncomfortable kissing men or if it's because kieron is a more laid back character or if it's a safe for early evenings thing.

    On german tv we don't have that much problems with kisses/bed-scenes  but the hollyoaks-cast was asked about it on "this morning" and they admitted, that they were sometimes disappointed with the final cut of their more daring scenes.

    by the way: it's official now that jake hendriks will leave as well

    Again, Myra's making John-Paul's personal relationship, ALL ABOUT HER. Why would he 'chose' someone who's broken their vows with the church? Because, he's in LOVE with that person, who broke their own vows, because they're also in LOVE with him. There's like this disconnect in her hearing and understanding of the utter importance of their love for each other. She may or may not understand that, because she probably has never experienced that type of love and faith in her own relationships with men, but c'mon.

    This isn't just some 'passing fancy'. She's talking about her son here.

    btw - I loved that John-Paul told Kieron to keep his bible. That's a part of the man, his faith, that he fell in love with, so why should he cut all ties off of his love of the Church?

    I am heartbroken that Jake Hendriks is leaving.  Father Freakon was pretty much the reason I got into HO.  Oh well...

     Thanks to Nick. JP and Kieron going about their day - talking with the mouth full (no pun intended),going to job interviews, being mistaken for pole dancers, organizing a gay night at the Loft and sharing a bottle of beer. Aaaahhh.
