"Hollyoaks" video clip update: Rollaway Bride
Today's Hollyoaks clip picks up with John Paul rolling his sister Carmel down the aisle (as you recall, Carmel's dress was too tight, and she couldn't walk, so they put her on roller skates). As Carmel's wedding march fills the chapel (would it surprise you to learn that it's a Spice Girls song?), she tells J.P. that she's glad that he came, and he says "me too". Later, they're arriving at the reception when J.P. sees Craig, and Myra has to remind him that it's Carmel's day. She tells him that he can't keep blaming himself for Kieron's death, and when he says he should have been at the funeral, says he has to respect Kieron's family's wishes, too. She promises J.P. that they'll pay their own respects to Kieron later in the week. After Myra leaves, Craig shows up, and he and J.P. make plans to go for a drink before Craig goes back to Dublin. Sensing that J.P. might actually be on the road to recovery, Niall swoops in to put a stop to it, and tells him about Kieron's service, and how heartbroken his mom and dad were. After all, "losing your son is something you never get over, is it?" Well, I like this episode more than yesterday's headscratcher. We learn that it was probably Kieron's family who kept the details of the funeral from J.P., and it was very sweet of Myra to suggest that they pay their respects their own way. And once again, Niall is so wonderfully, hilariously, insidiously evil. I wish he could stick around just to be that guy who says the most horribly inappropriate things to people ... maybe they could put him in a hot li'l devil costume and play people's consciences. He could appear in a *POOF*, say something outrageous, then *POOF* out again. You can see the clip after the break, and check back for more updates! Submitted by on Tue, 2008-09-16 12:41. |

Great episode
I could not help but laugh through the whole thing. Those McQueens are trully unique.
Glad to see the funeral question being addressed. And you missed Nialls point in trying to hurt JP, Kierons parents where dealing with the loss of their only son, ouch!
Grunt Work
I don't think the question about the funeral was answered, I think that was just another example of the HO continuity department failing. This whole thing is so thrown together that each script writers doesn't know what his or her fellow writers are doing.
This shwo has lost a lot of heart and emotion since Kieron died, and I don't have a lot of hope that they will get it back. I can hardly bring myself to care about the plot holes, inconsistent characters or events, or even what will happen next. Watching the clips has turned into a boring job.
Well
At least why he did not know about it, which was what I could not really understand. Jackies attitude was reprehensable, even if her message was not that wrong. She has really become bitter since the baby mamma drama, yes Hollyoaks had it own baby mamma drama, and she is reflecting that.
What I dont like its the writers decision to have the funeral at the same time as the wacky wedding. Was that a way of saving time and money by not having to deal with it? Shamefull to the character, the actor and the fans not to give him a proper send off. Even if it meant more drama for JP and Kierons family. That for a soap would not have been bad, its their bread and butter.
I guess they are willing to do anything to set up McDean.
What's going on ?
It's harder and harder for me to watch this show, I usually love most of the characters, even the evil ones (Nial is a good example) but since Kieron died there is too many weird things going on.
I can't stand Jackie anymore, she used to be so good with John Paul, plus I really thought Mercedes would say something, but even though she probably didn't really agree with Jackie she didn't open her mouth once.
I definitely think that they are not handleling this right, they just want to get rid of it so they can have the SE and then talk about other storylines. I mean, come on ! We've been hearing about Carmel's wedding for ages, I honestly thought the day would never come when we would actually SEE the ceremony (when Mercedes, Jackie and Tina's weddings happened so quickly) and now they have it at the same day as Kieron's funeral ?
And I can understand (kinda) why would Myra, Jackie and the others want John-Paul to be at Carmel's wedding but they could've been nicer with him, talk it over, instead of forcing him.
I'm really not thrilled about all this.
John Paul's conversation
John Paul's conversation with Leo was one of the funniest things I've seen in days. "We all know each other, the gays. We're like one big, pink, happy family." "I think his name is Jonathan." "I do know him, actually." I laughed.
Oh Leo :D - I heart him
Oh Leo :D - I heart him since "I think I prefered it when it was called the love that dare not speak its name" hehe.
If anyone wants to see more of this colourful wedding, JP getting a very nasty glance from Father Raymond (?), "QueenMum" and Papa Valentine getting close and a lot more tackiness should watch da33431 youtube-videos. Part one Part two
And can someone please explain the orangeness that is Carmel? I know she is a McQueen - but please... let this be an accident. Forgot to ask yesterday...
Orange Carmel
oh - thanks, okay... I'm
oh - thanks, okay... I'm not sure if I should be relieved, though ;-)
McQueen weddings
are guaranteed to put one off weddings forever! :) I loved the dialogue in this episode. We had pretty good one-liners from a couple of characters. I like Leo- nice to see him on Youtube (finally). I thought the voiceover from Leo while the camera panned over to JP/C and Warren/Louise was pretty enlightning. Sorta giving the viewers a clue of whats to come. I like.
I also thought the script writers are handling Keirons death and JP's reaction to it pretty sensitively.
Still wish there was more Craig in it though.
Can't help it- Guy Burnets hot and I like looking at him :)
