"Hollyoaks" video clip update: The final farewell

The McQueen family is trying to pick up the pieces after losing one of their own. Will this persuade John Paul to reconsider and move back home? Um ... no. But you can find out why after the break (and learn about a gay fan favorite returning to the show) with another Hollyoaks Mega Post!

In the first of the three clips, the family arrive at the Hospital, bruised and scraped up, but physically fine (except for Mercedes, who has broken ribs, and Tina, who's dealing with a nasty case of rigor mortis).

Emotionally, it's something different, as Jacqui has a chip on her shoulder for some reason (oh yeah ... that whole "mum chose me to die" thing), while Myra is struggling to maintain her composure under the weight of her guilt.

The second clip has Zak, Elliot (who's just as adorkable as ever), and Russell playing Three Blokes and a Baby, and it's a cute scene with the ... Oh My Effing God! ... there's the ghost of a dead boy behind the curtain! ... oh wait ... it's just a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson. Oh My Effing God ... there's a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson behind the curtain!

Meanwhile, Myra is trying to explain to Carmel why she chose her to die, and then John Paul has a long talk with his mother about why he can't stay. He tells her that in Hollyoaks, he's "John Paul, the gay McQueen brother", but in Dublin, he's just himself. It's a great scene, but I was distracted by the J.P. forehead wound ... did it remind anyone else of Luke's infamous "Toaster Strudel" injury on As The World Turns?

The final clip is difficult to watch if you're a John Paul fan, as he finally has a proper send-off with his family. You can tell that the emotion on James Sutton's face is real as he makes his final exit.

Well, John Paul is gone ... for good. But there is good news on the gay front!

Fan favorite Spike (played by Tom Vaughan) will be returning for a few episodes. He and J.P. had a fling before McDean, then he just ... disappeared. Hopefully, this will lead to a more permanent status. (Thanks to reader bunchoflemons for the heads up.)

So what did you think of the brief return of J.P.? I'm glad he finally got to leave properly, as the first time seemed ... unfinished. Let us know what you thought in the comments, and thanks for taking the John Paul journey with us these many months!

    Elliot............

Just a reminder that the actor who plays Elliot (Garnon Davies) is an out actor.

I didn't know he was an out actor but you're right!  He says he's gay here in this article:

    G'bye John Paul

You'll be sorely missed in soap-land.

I loved the final three episodes JP was in- a bonus to his awesome exit in September. I liked that he got to say his farewells to his family and to the fans as he's walking away.JP and Craig were one of my favorite tv characters of all time and sad as I am to see them go, I'm glad Tom Vaughan (Spike) is back..for a while at least.

    On with the show.
