"Hollyoaks" video clip update: The chimp and the pole dancer

Today's Hollyoaks clip could be titled "A Day in the Life", because there's no McQueen family drama or church interference, it's just John Paul and Kieron having a (relatively) normal day ... which is actually kind of refreshing.

As they're eating breakfast, Kieron discusses the job interview he's about to head off to, and J.P. overhears Cinderella lamenting her fate since she caught Prince Charming diddling the stable boy:

"No home, no bloke, working in a juice bar with my demented stepsister!"

Okay, it's not Cinderella, it's Mandy talking to Louise, but J.P. does overhear Louise talking about the problems The Loft is having, and that gives him a brainstorm. He heads over to talk to Warren, who owns The Loft, and in case you don't know, is a total whack job (but a hot whack job).

J.P. has a plan on how to make the club money, but Warren tells him that if he wanted financial advice, he'd listen to that "fit bird" on TV (umm..Suzie Orman? ... The San Diego Chicken?). J.P. suggest a gay night at the club, and Warren is open to the idea, but not to J.P.'s demand for a cut of the profits:

"You're forgetting one thing, me - boss, you - chimp that spins records ... I can always find myself another chimp."

Okay, I have to admit, as crestfallen as J.P. looked, I did laugh at that (maybe it was the image of Lancelot Link in the DJ booth that popped into my head). J.P. decides to tackle it from another angle, and when he runs into Louise, manages to talk his way into a much better deal.

Back at home, J.P. is working out the details when Kieron arrives from an unsuccessful day of job hunting. It seems there was a misunderstanding with his prospective employers, which leads to this loaded question from Kieron:

"Can you see me pole dancing?"

Why yes, Kieron, I can ... and late at night, often do.
