IMHO: "Desperate Housewives" (5.10) "A Vision's Just A Vision". Unless it's a vision of your son's boyfriend doing gay porn.

I have to admit to being skeptical with the whole "Andrew's dream boyfriend has a shady past" story. After all, didn't they do almost exactly the same thing on Sex & the City with Stanford and his dream boyfriend? And since gay storylines are hard to come by, I was dreading that Desperate Housewives was going to try roasting this old chestnut again. But I was pleasantly surprised.
Find out why after the break (but beware of SPOILERS!)

Bree has found out that Andrew has moved in with the adorable Dr. Alex, and can't understand why her son never mentioned anything about it. He basically says "well, because you're ... you," and reminds her that she has never shown any interest in his love life before (and handing him a pamphlet about the re-emergence of Gonorrhea doesn't count).
Bree decides to rectify the situation by inviting the two of them to one of her trademark awkward and strained dinners. And because she's ... she, she also surreptitiously invites gay neighbors Bob and Lee (who looks more than ever like Beaker from The Muppet Show).
Andrew is incredulous when the two of them show up for dinner (he asks Bree, "what are you, sponsoring a float?"), but Bob and Lee take an instant shine to Dr. Alex ... in fact, he seems very familiar to them, something that doesn't escape the hawk-like intensive gaze of Bree.
During dinner, Dr. Alex goads Andrew into announcing that the two of them are getting married, which elicits a round of applause from everyone, and more magpie chatter-whispering from Bob and Lee. Bree has had enough, and drags the two of them into the kitchen, where they admit that they have seen Alex before ... in a gay porn they just rented called Rear Deployment.

The next day Bree shows up to speak to Andrew with a copy of the DVD (unfortunately, they don't show her in the store renting it, which would have been a classic scene), and is shocked when Andrew tells her that he already knew about Alex's porn past. He's decided not to hold it against Alex, though; because after all, Andrew's past isn't exactly squeaky-clean either.
Now here's where it gets interesting. You'd expect control-freak Bree to fly off the handle about Alex's past (and how it might reflect on her) but she doesn't do that. She asks Andrew is Alex is "the one" and when he says yes, she accepts it. He thanks for her trying to meddle in his love life ... I think because he realizes that by treating it as just something else to meddle in, it means she has finally accepted the fact that he's a gay man.
Bob had some extra screen time this week as well. He was hired by Lynette and Tom to represent Porter, who's been charged with arson. Am I the only one who forgot that Bob was a lawyer? I thought he made a living as a gay quipster/nosy neighbor.
I'm giving this episode an arrow up not only because it finally gave Andrew some proper screen time, but because it sets up what will hopefully be the highlight of the season: a gay wedding ... prepared by Bree.
What did you think of this week's episode?
