Keith Olbermann on Miss California, "Joe the Plumber", and conservative family values

Above you can see Keith Olbermann's number one story on Countdown last night, as he skewers both Carrie "Miss California" Prejean (who may not be Miss California for long), and Sam "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher (who was never really a plumber).

The interesting thing about the clip is that Keith actually starts off on the side of the pageant loser, defending her against the attacks on her character since the semi-nude photos of her surfaced.

Until he brings in Princeton Professor Melissa Harris-Lacewell, who delivers a fairly brilliant counterpoint that causes Keith to change his assessment.

As for Joe, his statement "I've had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn't have them anywhere near my children" worries me. When I was a child, I too had imaginary "gay friends", but I eventually grew out of it.
