"Late Night Hollyoaks" announced, with the return of Craig!
Good news for Hollyoaks fans: a spicier late night version of the British soap is set to air in November, on the channel E4. According to an official, it's going to be more "daring": "Winning more British Soap Awards than any other soap this year goes to show that Hollyoaks has not only grown up in the eyes of the viewers, but it’s also being taken seriously by the industry and critics alike." A late night slot on E4 is the perfect opportunity for the writers and producers to take the drama to another level and be more daring with adult storylines, whilst also keeping the fun playfulness that Hollyoaks fans love." Hmm ..."more daring", "fun playfulness", that can only mean one thing: naked butt shots! And fans of the character Craig Dean can rejoice, as actor Guy Burnet will be reprising his role on the limited episode series. For newer viewers of Hollyoaks, Craig was once heavily involved with John Paul, and there were rumours he would be coming back to interfere in J.P.'s relationship with Kieron. With the announcement of this new series, it's unclear right now what's going to happen with Craig and J.P (you can read a full account of their turbulent relationship at their Wikipedia page), and it'll be interesting to see what the status of Craig's sexuality is (he's been ... unsure in the past). You can see a clip of some of the J.P. and Craig backstory after the break, and as soon as we learn more, we'll be sure to pass it on. And thanks for the heads up to AE reader bunchoflemons! Yeah I heard about this a
Well, Craig is set to be
Well, Craig is set to be returning to rescue his sister (I presume Steph, although they're bringing back some old cast members soon, so it could also be Debbie). But the previous late-night specials haven't shied away from explicit content. The male-rape episode a few years ago was probably the best they did. Plus, other reports for the normal programme say that John Paul has to make a decision between his past and his future, so I can only assume that means continuing with Kieron or re-kindling his relationship with Craig.
In more recent interviews, Guy's sounded more open-minded about the subject, though there's a difference between what he thinks and whether he'll actually be able to perform it.
I don't even think.....
I don't even think JP will be in these late night episodes.
I think this is a way for the show to re-introduce craig back into the other timeslot of hollyoaks and then probably get him back into JP's storyline.
Liz, I love...
your AV. Please tell me what movie it's from (if, indeed it is from a movie).
What gay man would not want to be in her place? LOL
cary grant was...
Cary Grant was a smokin' man...even I would wanna be in Ingrid's place. ;-)
I think my avatar is from a publicity shot for their movie "indiscreet"
they were in another movie together which is one of my favorites ever --> Notorious. I think Cary is super sexy in that movie....moreso towards the last 5-10 minutes...anyways, you should check it out sometime. you'll probably see what I mean. :-D
Initially
I thought the same thing, but the I started thinking.
Steph might be the one who needs saving. The current psychos in the village are Warren and the adorable Niall. And since Niall has a thing for Steph, Im thinking it could be part of his big reveal, he could just snap and take her to Belfast. That means JP could be involved.
That would be a shame because that means Niall might be leaving (I love Niall when hes not being his evil self), he needs to find a way to redeem himself and stay in Hollyoaks.
A good place for a JP/Kieron and JP/Craig refresher
Here is a playlist for JP and Craig.
Here is a playlist for JP and Kieron.
I loved JP with Craig...but my heart is behind JP and Kieron.
Previously on Hollyoaks
I've been enjoying the John Paul/Kieron storyline since AE started following it, but I finally went to YouTube and caught up on the John Paul/Craig storyline (it took about three days!) and I encourage anyone who's been watching the clips here to do the same. Seeing what John Paul went through between coming out and his relationship with Craig adds an amazing depth to his character and his relationship with Kieron, and it really made me appreciate what a fine actor James Sutton is. John Paul has been through an incredible journey, but Sutton made me believe every second of it.
(The JP/Craig clips on YouTube also include a good chunk of Hannah's anorexia storyline, which ties in to John Paul.)
I can't wait to see what happens when Craig comes back, but I really want JP to stay with Kieron. Kieron is so much better for him (and cuter)!
No way Craig returns without JP involved
In my mind, there is NO WAY that TPTB go to the trouble of convincing Guy Burnet to return to HO without major JP plotlines involved. Jason, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the McDean storyline become something of a sensation in Britain, even earning awards?
The only reason you have Craig Dean return is to put him back in the arms of John Paul. Period. If they don't do that, the negative fallout would be disastrous for the show.
I am curious as to why Guy has decided to return. From what I read, he was ready to move on to other roles and does not generally go backwards in his career, and he wanted to travel the world some. Guess he wasn't getting any new roles, or just needs the money. Whatever the reason, I am JAZZED about the news!!!! (Is it November yet?)
When leaving Hollyoaks he
Hopefully some closure for McDean
I thought Craig was a whiney ass bitch!
I was constantly pissed at the character of Craig and felt no vibe from the actor who played him. He was nothing more than one whiney-ass bitch in my book. The scene at the airport when JP and Craig were set to leave for Belfast showed what a wimp he truly was. I'm glad JP cut him off at the knees and left his dumbass standing there. Then when Craig got on the escalator, he started wimpering. I thought good enough for you, you slimeball. I have NO desire to see this loser come back. Keiron is and should be the true love for JP, not this loser. If Craig fans hate me for saying this, I'm a big boy. I can take it! lol...
PREACH IT!
I felt the same way! But...I still liked the character. He was a flawed person with a lot of baggage.
I'm dying to see what kinds of issues it causes with his return. JP's main reason for not jumping on board the Father Hottie train was because he still had feelings for Craig. Now he's gonna be back.
I'm SO praying that Father Hottie wins the JP tug o war. He's such a better character. When you sit down and watch all the JP/Kieron episodes you see how great they are together. It's messy...but they are both great guys.
I hope Craig gets kicked to the curb.
About bitches wimps slimeballs, losersm and a bit about Craig...

Did you actually watch any of these episodes? Because Craig never went to Belfast...
So am I, otherwise we'd never have seen James Sutton on our screens again.
Well, Craig was hardly a slimeball. Didn't make himself too popular you know... And are you seriously telling me guys can't cry? Then why do you like John Paul so much??!! He cries all the time!!!
Craig did leave as a bit of a loser though. In fact his character always was kind of written like that. Cheeky chappy, always scheming, bit manipulative, but heart in the right place kind of guy who'd protect his mum and sisters if needed. And a loser - didn't pass his exams, couldn't stand up to Sonny. But I think those weaknesses are kind of is what made John Paul want to protect him so much. I thought John Paul was more out of character in those airport scenes than Craig. He had promised to stand by Craig and left him when it got tough (seriously, pda's are a tough turn to take for many gay men).

Yayyyyyy hope this mean JP
Not just Late-Night...
He's back! In September, to make an sunset ending!
Hollyoaks actor Guy Burnet will make a dramatic return to the soap as Craig Dean later this year in the hope of a sunset ending with lover John Paul McQueen.
The 24-year-old, quit the show in August when his character left for Trinity College, Dublin, after his affair with John Paul was dramatically exposed at Craig and Sarah's (Loui Batley) engagement party.
With his heart set on rekindling his romance with John Paul (James Sutton), Craig makes a shocking return just as the dust settles in the wake of John Paul's relationship with Father Kieron Hobbs (Jake Hendriks) being exposed to the village.
Sarah's feelings for Craig are also pushed to the limit as she attempts to put the devastating revelation that her lover was involved in a gay love affair well and truly behind her.
Meanwhile, Craig's mother Frankie becomes so embroiled in her family deceit that it's not long before Craig uncovers some shocking skeletons hiding in the family closet.
Speaking of his decision to return, Guy said: "I've had so much support from the McDean fans since I left the show and so it’s great to have the opportunity to reprise the storyline and give viewers a resolution to the Craig and John Paul story."
Producer Bryan Kirkwood added: "The Craig and John Paul story is one of the biggest and most successful that Hollyoaks has told, winning many awards and legions of fans. I'm delighted that Guy has agreed to come back and excited to see how viewers will react to what we have in store."
Last week, it was announced that Guy would also be making an appearance in Hollyoaks' latest bank of late night spinoff episodes.
Guy returns to filming next month and will make his screen comeback in early September.

IT'S GONNA HAPPEN! THANK YOU GUY!!
Johnny Come Lately
Ok, I know I've only seen the JP/Craig stuff in bits and pieces on Youtube, but I'm wondering how anyone can like Craig. He seems like an evil little douchebag. Does he display some kind of redeeming quality in scenes not on youtube?

Craig
Well, Craig is a douchbag but he does love JP, and his flaws are sort of what make the story more gratifying. It's not perfect, and he hurts JP but they always gravitate back to each other. You want Craig to change because then they'll be happy but you kind of know he won't.
The best way to understand Craig? Watch the episodes! You're right, Craig has few redeeming features, (I didn't even like him before this) but he has depth and does really love JP!
Creepy..
I have never seen the episodes of JP and Craig, but the few clips I've seen on YouTube, freek me out. That Craig guy actor is very creepy! His facial expression is often mean, aggressive and vicious.
I want JP and Kieron!

Hate Craig
I Personally Hate Craig With A passion He Is only Coming Back To Mess Everything Up After Us All Just Gettign kieron Not To Die Now We Have To Put Up With The Fact JP Might (I'm Praying And Hopeing ALOT That He Doesn't) Choose Craig.
I Love John Paul And Kieron As A Couple I Think Theyre Amazing Together And Kieron Really Does Love JP He Was Willing To Give Up His Church And Everything he Believed In For JP I Hope JP Doesn't Choose Craig After What Kieron And Him Went Through.
