Liveblogging "As The World Turns": The Doctor is ... Out

Now that Reid is officially out, what will Luke's reaction be when he hears the news? Will he see his nemesis in a different light?

2:05PM EST: Oh jeez ... now there's a "baby daddy" storyline with Janet, Jack, Carly and Dusty. So Jack and Carly are back together? Because last time I watched Jack had moved back in with Janet and they were doing a whole Dudley Moore/Mary Tyler Moore in Six Weeks thing with about-to-kick-the-bucket Liberty, trying to make her last days like a non-stop "OMG, A Pony!" birthday party.

Oh, okay. Janet is having a baby for the bone marrow, to help out Liberty. How very My Sister's Keeper.

Reid is saying goodbye to Katie, and Luke is startled as he walks by to see Reid hold the baby up and actually smile. Or is he waiting for Reid's jaw to unhinge and down it in one gulp?

2:15PM EST: Luke continues to observe from a distance and makes hilarious out-of-focus faces as Reid and Katie continue their goodbye. Reid finally says "You know Mr. Snyder, you've been eavesdropping long enough to know this is a private conversation. Quit Dipping" Luke puts on a "what, me?" face.

Henry and Barbara continue their Martha Rae/Mark Harris affair (okay, that was unfair. I apologize). Henry leaves Babs to her hot flashes and runs into Vienna outside the elevator.

2:25PM EST: Vienna tells Henry "It's so good to see you again. I miss your sense of humor, and generosity. You're like the gay BFF I never should have slept with".

Katie says her first goodbye to Reid and takes her leave, at which time Luke asks questions about whether Reid will be sitting next to Noah on the plane. Reid is upset because the plane may be delayed, prompting Luke to offer the family private plane for Reid and Noah to get to Dallas. Reid ponders for a nano-second and then says "well, there's one catch with that offer. It comes from you", and walks away.

Janet finds out from the 15 year-old doctor on duty that she's five weeks pregnant, which means Jack is the father.

2:35PM EST: Luke runs into Reid again at the hotel bar and can't understand why he turned down the plane. Reid mentions something about Luke being upset that "he doesn't want to play with his toy", and he explains that he's different from the other people that Luke's run into. He says "I'm Mo'nique". Okay, that was unexpected. Oh wait, maybe it was "I'm unique". Luke says that he thinks the reason why Reid is such an asshat is because he's homophobic. Reid says "that's hysterical. I'm gay".

2:45PM EST: I just noticed that Vienna shops at the same "Whores R Us" outlet as Sin-derella from OLTL.

Luke says "you're not gay!", and Reid says "you require proof? How would that work out, exactly?" HA! Reid says he's known he was gay since he was 9, and known he was an asshat since he was 11. Luke is flabbergasted, saying "Knowing that could have helped us". Reid says "Why, because we could've given each other the secret handshake?" Luke argues "You meet someone, you get to know them, and find what you have in common, and that helps you relate". Reid says "unlike you, I don't have the need to spill my guts with everyone I meet", Reid walks away, and we see Luke with the most mischievous grin I've seen from him.

2:55PM EST: Katie tells Reid that Henry's giving the money to the hospital to build a wing specifically for him, which means he can stay. Reid says "Thanks, but I need to get back to Dallas. But it has nothing to do with my happypants for a certain blond brat".
