Liveblogging "As The World Turns": Surprise!

Noah plans a surprise party for Luke. Well, if it's a surprise he wants, it's a surprise he'll get!

2:05PM EST: Luke startles Lucinda as she's about to enter the house, prompting a whole "gay boys shouldn't their scare their elders" speech. She inquires about Noah, but Luke is sketchy about the details, prompting a whole "gay boys shouldn't be cryptic" speech. Lily comes out and mentions that Gabriel is Craig's son, surprising the hell out of Luke. Gee, do you think Luke's been too wrapped up in himself to have known about it?

Dusty is playing with Chuckie when Janet bursts in. Does she know Dusty is carrying on conversations with possessed dolls?

2:10PM EST: LieCarly and Jack are playing a sex game of "Do-gooder Cop and Loony Lush". Oh wait ... they're not playing. Jack gets a call that Gabriel and Liberty stole a car. We flash to the jail cell as Craig is trying to get Gabriel to open up. Maybe it's just me, but i get a definite "rent-boy" vibe about Gabriel. I wonder how much "luggage he's lifted."

2:20PM EST: Lily asks Luke to look for Gabriel. Luke says "okay, i'll try the truck stop on Route 8."

Ried tells Noah that he's being released today. Noah wants to know when he'll fully be able to see again. Reid tells him "do the therapy, take the drops, don't be an idiot." Well, two out of three ain't bad. Noah's "friend" Richard comes by to pick him up, and mentions that Reid is hot. Noah is startled, since Luke never mentioned it.

Reid runs into Luke and mentions that Noah is being discharged. Luke wonders why Noah didn't call him, and then realizes that Noah didn't want him to become involved. Reid offers to help Luke look for Gabriel. Wait a minute ... Reid offers to help Luke? Whoa!

2:30PM EST: LuRe stroll the only street in Oakdale looking for Gabriel when Reid mentions what a dump the town is, but looks at Luke and says "even a disaster like Oakdale has its attractions". Damn, he's good. Reid asks Luke if he wants to ask Noah why he wanted Richard to pick him up, and Luke says "No. There must be a reason why he didn't want me there."

The nurse gives Noah some drops in his eyes, and tells him to take them three times a day. She leaves, leaving Noah in burning agony. He asks Richard to call her back, and then he stumbles to the mirror and opens his eyes. He can see!

2:35PM EST: Noah grabs his phone and is about to call Luke when he stops himself. Richard asks "you were about to call him, weren't you?" Noah basically tells Richard "Dude, you're great, but you're no Luke."

Reid and a very uncomfortable Luke come home to find an empty house. Luke is all fidgets and nervous stares until Reid says "I'll leave". Luke grabs his arm and says "stay." The chemistry between the two is undeniable in this scene.

2:45PM EST: Luke says "you might as well stick around in case Gabriel shows up" Reid asks "is that really why you want me to stay?" and Luke responds "no ... I like the company." Reid keeps prodding, asking "so you don't have to think about Noah asking someone else to take him home from the hospital?" Luke says "it's that so bad?" , and Reid tells him that it's actually healthy.

Luke actually says "wanna watch the Cubs game?" Damn, I was hoping he'd invite Reid upstairs to look at his "etchings". They settle down to play a game of ... chess. No, not strip chess, just ... chess.

Noah is ready to leave the hospital, and asks Richard not to tell anyone he has his sight back. He wants it to be a ... surprise!

2:50PM EST: OMLG! This is one of the best scenes I've seen on this show in a while. Reid says "checkmate", and Luke realizes he's been hustled. Reid explains that he was a child prodigy, and Luke says "there's so much I don't know about you." Reid says "you know the important stuff", and then breaks down and laughs and says "i can't do this. I can't do the heart-on-the-sleeve thing. I feel like some kind of Dorky high school kid. All I can think about is how much I like you, and whether you like me." Luke asks if he was out in high school, and Reid says "yeah, I was. It was terrifying. You remember how it was when you had a crush on a guy, and you were afraid he would run away if he knew how you felt." Luke smiles and tells Reid that he's never seen him babbling like this. Reid says "I don't know what else to do.", and Luke strokes Reid's face and hair, and they kiss ... and it's a hot kiss! Unfortunately, Noah picked the wrong time to get his sight back, because he sees the whole thing through the window. Ha! Now this is classic soap opera!
