Liveblogging "One Life To Live": The Big Day, Part Four "Help Kyle Decide"
With just hours to go before the ceremony, Kyle can't stop thinking about Oliver. Decisions, decisions! Maybe he needs a little help. Who do you think Kyle should end up with? Vote below, and then join us for the fun, and refresh for updates! 2:05PM EST: Oh wow, it's the HALLOWEEN EPISODE! Yes! We've got Batman, Robin, Catwoman, with Blair, Todd and Jack and little whatsisface as the Fantastic Four. Blair is rocking her Invisible Girl suit , and Jack is quite the little flamer (meaning he's wearing the Human Torch outfit). I still say they should put Scott Evans in a Johnny Storm costume, as a tribute to his brother. 2:10PM EST: So, we're going to get a Dani/Matthew/Destiny triangle? Gee, great! DVTM is offering trick-or-treaters half-eaten apples, and he's teaming up with Destiny. Which is more disturbing? Amelia wants Dorian to legalize all the same-sex marriages that are about to happen. Dorian is all "Whaaa?" and Amelia explains that all Dorian has to do is issue marriage licenses for all the couples. It doesn't mean anything has to change between the two of them, and she'd still be free to be with DVTM, and to love him. 2:20PM EST: I'm loving the spinster schoolmarm. She has a definite haughty Sarah Douglas as Ursa in Superman II vibe. Amelia tells Dorian she can be with DVTM is she wants, it just takes a "little planning". Dorian thinks it's too late to be outed as "straight", and Amelia tells her she doesn't think she go along with the wedding if it's going to hurt her. Dorian says "do you want to cancel the wedding?", and Amelia responds "do you?" just as DVTM walks through the door. Okay, the show's half over, where the hell is Kyle? 2:35PM EST: Dorian tells DVTM about the "new plan". He says "i can't tell you what to do. what is it that you want?" Matthew shreds Bo and Nora limb from limb. I love it! I now realize where I've seen the Destiny-style of acting. Barney! Still no Kyle. This is ticking me off. 2:45PM EST Okay, the Dynamic Trio and the Fantastic Four have a dance-off, and I have to admit to cringing just a bit. Schuyler, GiGi and Shane win. DVTM just quit Dorian's campaign to fly to London with Destiny. Bo and Nora are feeling sorry for themselves and throwing glasses and bottles against the wall. Which leads to ... a kiss! Matthew calls TBTD, and says "a friend of mine thought you might be able to help me", as Dani stands nearby. DVTM and Destiny are about to leave for the airport (apparently kids these days keep their passports handy), when Dorian saunters down the steps in her wedding outfit, and tries to convince DVTM to stay. It's no use, though, as he has a "date with destiny". Those are his words, not mine. I would never make a pun that bad. Well. No Kyle. Obviously, the online spoiler Gods are toying with me. 2. How did Destiny manage to save up nearly $1000.00? Orbitz shows the cheapest no-advance round-trip ticket from Llanview, er, Harrisburg, PA, to London is $484.00 per person on Air Canada....

1.) Last week Matthew's roomate stole Daniela's cell phone so Matthew could use it, and Matthew called Destiny with it. So it was on Destiny's caller ID.
2.) Destiny has a part-time job teaching acting lessons down at the Y.
I would demand an immediate refund of my tuition...

Destiny had the number because Buchanan Jr. called her from it not knowing it was Danielle's.
Not seeing live but will ask anyway, did Danielle fly overseas without parental consent? Or did someone come with her?

I'm with most of you I want to like Destiny but the other "kid" actors on they show are so much better. Also she seems like she is 11 or 12 while Mathew seems like he is 15 or 16. I know they are the same age but she looks much younger.

...didn't Schuyler or Gigi say something like "You should know!" back at Todd?
And don't get me started on the actress who plays Destiny. It's just painful to watch her try to act.

Curse you, OLTL writers! We don't need more gay wedding scheme exposition, we need KNISH resolution NOW! Get those gays suited up and down the aisle pronto! (with Officer Fish in the wings, taser at the ready of course :P)
That said, Skyler (hawt) filled that batsuit quite..amply yesterday (even if those were padded bat pecs..), so perhaps some busting of move may offer meagre consolation.. for now.

The Role of Drag Queen Heidi Klum...
...was played by one of my Broadway faves - JACKIE HOFFMAN! I didn't even realize it immediately. I thought it was some half-baked drag queen.
Turns out, it was a real woman...who looked like a half-baked drag queen.

I think this storyline is a HUGE waste of great acting talent in Hilary B. Smith. Her acting has been the only real stand out in any of these scenes yet they really are just dull and boring. Why can't we start the Bo & Kim seduction that seems to be coming rather than this dragged out and cruel story. I mean put a rest, fix him and get over it.

I was sympathetic until the kidnapping twist, but yeah, they're now pissing me off, too. OTOH, since I watched a bunch of the older eps, I've got more positive stories to balance them out overall.
I'm still enjoying the hell out of the story, though. Matthew's plight is probably the most emotionally engaging story going on right now for me. It's been amped up by his separation from Destiny, sadly coming to a close. I hope they're not expecting us to root for Destiny over Danielle.

Nora and Tea
It occurs to me that one of the many ways that Nora is very similar to her nemesis Tea is that both have strong, well-defined character traits that aren't so much good or bad as situational.
In other words, we cheer when they are pointed a direction we like, and boo and hiss when they are pointed a direction we dislike. This, despite the fact that they have the same motivations and behaviors in both situations.
Tea's goal is to win. Her morality isn't different when she's getting Todd off for rape or defending Matthew's rights. And Nora always does what she thinks is right, whether we agree, or whether it's legal. Her morality isn't any different when she throws a case to KEEP from getting Todd off for rape, or fighting to take away Matthew's rights.
And, of course, they've both sent their kids off to a London boarding school for selfish reasons that have very little to do with their kids' welfare.
I think they're much more alike that Tea and Blair. Blair definitely has a good side and a bad side, and her good and bad decisions come from very different places.
