Liveblogging "One Life To Live": The Secret of the Spawn

Oliver is nervous about his parents coming for a visit, specifically about the prospect of coming out to them. Can Cristian and Layla convince him that coming clean with the big Fish is the right thing to do?

2:05PM EST: We start with a recap of yesterday, as Oliver tells Cris and Layla that his parents are coming for a visit, and want to meet his girlfriend. Cristian says "Ooh, that could be a problem", prompting a "stifle!" look and a rib nudge from Layla.

Damn, Ross finally put his shirt on.

2:10PM EST: Cole has to sell drugs to a punk kid, who turns out to be the Mayor's son, who Nora and Bo blame for Matthew's accident, and who John has to collar, so the kid won't blow his investigation, which includes putting a super spy sno-globe on the Mayor's desk to get info, if only Dorian will shut the hell up. Got that?

2:15PM EST: Layla and Cris do their best to comfort and console Oliver, but he's terrified of seeing his parents and doesn't know what to tell them. Layla grasps his hand and rest her head on his shoulders and says "how bout the truth?"

2:25PM EST: Oliver has to go splash water on his face, while Layla and Cris try to convince him that telling his parents will set him free. In any event, they'll stand by him. Oliver says "you don't know my parents, but you will. You'll see what they're like, and then you'll know why I can never come out to them".

I thought it was supposed to be a Toaster oven!

2:35PM EST: Oliver goes further into why he can't come out. Apparently, his parents are of the "pray-the-gay-away-AIDS-is-divine-retribution" group, and party down with the Phelps clan every weekend or something. So odds are his dad regularly uses Craigslist to trawl for twink.

2:40PM EST: Cris asks Layla how she's holding up after the Oliver revelation, and she softly says "I'm doing fine". Eek. Either she's going to hold this all in and get an ulcer ... or she's going to erupt when people least expect it. I'm hoping for the latter.

2:50PM EST: Layla insists she's okay, but she's more worried about Oliver and how he must be terrified of losing his parents. She thanks Cris for all his support, and embraces him (something Cris quite enjoys), but then pulls the rug out from under him when she claims to be "through with men".
