Liveblogging "The Young & The Restless": Feelings ... nothing more than feelings?

Well, my first attempt at liveblogging a show I had never seen before went a tad bumpy (damn those backstories!), but you know what they say ... the second time is always less painful.

Anyway, this episode of the Young & The Restless promises more bat-crap insanity (including, I hope, the crazy cat lady), and Adam professing "feelings" for Rafe. But is it for real, or just a ploy?

12:35PM EDT: Joshua Morrow and Baby Spice are awaiting the results of a test (SAT?, Driving?), and we cut to YEAH!, it's Mary Jane chatting with Phyllis. Little Summer is about to eat something with peanuts when Phyliis slaps it out of her hand, which causes Mary Jane's eyes to narrow.

12:40PM EDT: Adam is on the phone trying to find some Mary Jane ... I mean trying to find out about Mary Jane, and when Victor interrupts, Adam asks him why he was slinking around outside. Victor tells some b.s. story, which cause Adam's eyes to narrow.

12:45PM EDT: Chloe is talking to an empty stroller with a recording of a baby's voice inside and decides to call Billy. Unfortunately Billy is unavailable, as he's trying to put the moves on Mac (Clementine Ford).

12:50PM EDT: Mary Jane is left alone with Summer, and starts talking to her about the nefarious plans she has. Um, the girl ain't stuffed, so you might not wanna say too much.

1:00 PM EDT: More Billy macking on Mac , and we return to Mary Jane plotting something evil, possibly involving giving Summer poison peanuts. Adam is talking to a picture of his mother, asking how she was able to cope with being blind. He admits to messing with Ashley's mind, and then delivers a nicely done Wikipedia-style monologue about all the dastardly things he's done. He takes out a box (which hides the wig and dress he used to impersonate Sabrina in order to drive Ashley crazy), when there's a knock at the door. It's Rafe!

1:05PM EDT: Adam hurriedly stashes the Big Box O' Drag, as Rafe storms in. Adam basically says "gee it's a shame about your aunt, but she's obviously guilty so let's just drop it", but Rafe thinks someone else may be guilty. When Adam asks who, Rafe's eyes narrow.

1:10PM EDT: We had a Weather Bulletin here, so the over-eager weather guy interrupted programming. I screamed at him to get off the screen, but the dumbass was too excited about thunderstorms to listen. Anyway, when we come back, Summer is lying on the floor (from what i gather, Mary Jane ate a peanut cookie, then gave Summer the kiss of death).

1:20PM EDT: Rafe tells Adam that a lot of people think he may be guilty. Adam is all "Rafe, how could you think I'd do this?, and Rafe responds with "if you have nothing to hide, then you won't have any objections to me looking around?" He starts rummaging around the room as Adam looks distressed and the Big Box O' Drag's eyes narrow.

1:30PM EDT: Chloe finds out that Billy is occupying a suite at the hotel, and storms in, interrupting him and Mac. She tells Mac that Billy may be the father of Sharon's baby, which stuns Mac. Sharon has found out, however, that Nick is the daddy. Damn, this is just crying out for a Very Special Maury episode. Rafe is close to finding the Big Box O' Drag, when Adam starts to panic. He comes up with a way to distract Rafe ... by declaring his "feelings" for him. He takes Rafe's hand, and says "It's not just a lawyer/client relationship. There's something there that's deeper, that' special". As Rafe looks on, stunned, Adam caresses his face and says "I have feelings ... don't you?'

PREVIEW TIME: Rafe "feels that way, too".
