Neil Patrick Harris lines up his next hosting gig ... and it's a big one!

We've often joked that Neil Patrick Harris is the hardest working gay man in show business, but there's just no denying the reality of it any more.

His never-ending quest to conquer the world includes his scene-stealing role of Barney on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and his scene-stealing role of ... Neil Patrick Harris in the Harold & Kumar films.

Add in countless appearances on talk shows, game shows, the web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and his recent turn as hosts of the TV Land Awards and the World Magic Awards, and there's no doubt that Neil Patrick is inescapable. For final proof, check out The 2009 AfterElton Hot 100 and take a look at who's number one (hint: his initials are NPH).

Now comes word that Neil Patrick has lined up his most prestigious hosting gig to date (no offense to TV Land or the magic guys). He will be hosting this year's Tony Awards, live on CBS June 7th, from Radio City Music Hall in NYC!

“The discipline of live theatre -- doing the same perfect thing night after night, eight times a week -- never ceases to amaze me,” said Harris. “I'm truly honored to have been chosen as the Master of Ceremonies for this year's Tony Awards, and I hope to help provide a first-class evening for all.”

Congratulations to Neil Patrick! We're sure he'll do just as bang-up a job with this as he did with the TV Land Awards (although it's unlikely he'll be cavorting with H.R. Pufnstuff at the Tony Awards ... but you never know!)
