Body shots! Five of the most memorable (and gayest) Spring Break films
Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini
Logo (our mother ship) is celebrating Spring Break with a load of movies, specials and travel features, and to join the frat-tastic fun we thought we'd take a look at a few of our favorite Spring Break films (including a NSFW peek at Johnny Depp).
So grab your sunscreen and Trojans, and join us for a fun trip guaranteed not to leave you with an empty wallet ... or STD.
From Justin to Kelly
I know you're probably thinking, "really, Snicks?" But let me explain. 2003's From Justin to Kelly is easily the most misunderstood musical since Grease 2. On the surface it may be atrocious, with forgettable songs, awkward choreography, and a lead performance by Justin Guarini that is a cross between a stalker and Sideshow Bob.
But you have to remember one thing: It's hard to dance on sand.
Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild
There was a lot in this sequel that didn't work. Well, actually most of it didn't work (although there were scenes that prepared me for 2 girls, 1 cup, so I guess that's something). But I'm willing to forgive a lot of it for scenes like the Bette Davis and Joan Crawford angel/devil bit, and the general attitude of absolute fearlessness that the filmmakers had.
Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise
Although this was another inferior sequel, it did feature the unapologetically flamboyant character Lamarr (Larry Scott), who returned with the rest of his nerd-mates for a trip to Ft. Lauderdale.
Borat
How could we not include this film, which features a man-kini, drunken frat boys (who were so obnoxious they later sued for defamation), and the title character inadvertently joining a gay pride parade?
Rob Morrow and Johnny Depp in Private Resort
Seriously, how many of us would give anything to be Rob Morrow in the above picture? Private Resort was a typically crass teen comedy, but it did feature both Johnny and Rob in various states of undress, which is good enough to get a recommendation.
Any of these your favorite Spring Break movie, or do you prefer something like Where the Boys Are or Hardbodies or — God forbid — The Real Cancun?
