At first, I thought he was all Koi, Perched up on the starting board. My eyes started with his Broadband shoulders then passed over his Velvet Belly and rested on his Boxfish. I wondered aloud if his Speedos concealed a Fathead Sculpin or just a False Moray. And, whether or not he was a Topminnow or a Bottom Feeder. The guy next to me responded “That’s easy! All swimmers are Flagfish. You can tell what they’re into by their suit color. You know? Jackfish, Suckers, Nibblers Pufferfish, Groupers, Leatherjackets -sometimes even Scat and Golden Shiners. That guy right down there: hung like a Horsefish, but with one splash he’s a Crystal Eyed Catfish. Goes from a Warmouth to a Cuckoo Squeaker. The second one is a Grayling – that’s why he puts up with coach Hagfish. The one at the end is a Harelip Sucker – Ha! I won’t even go into that! But I know who you’re looking at, he’s an Angelfish and wouldn’t hurt a Sole.
