"The Starter Wife" starts tomorrow. Will you be watching?

Emmy-winning Will & Grace star Debra Messing returns to series TV with The Starter Wife, premiering tomorrow night on the USA Network

It's a continuation of the semi-successful mini-series from last year, which started out strong in the ratings, but had lost half of its audience by the finale. It did well enough, though, for USA to order a ten-episode season, with most of the original cast reprising their roles.

Debra plays Molly, a woman who finds her life in turmoil when her husband leaves her for a younger woman. She also obsesses about her weight. That's right, Debra Messing plays a character who "wants to be skinny". Excuse me while my eyes rolls out of my head.

The fabulous Judy Davis (who won the only Emmy for the mini-series) plays her best friend, an alcoholic, tart-tongued socialite named Patsy Joan.

Molly's gay BFF is an interior designer named Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos), who's having an affair with closeted action movie star Felix (James Black).

Not making the leap to the series is Stephen Moyer, who moved over to HBO's True Blood, where the characters are supposed to be inhuman bloodsuckers.

In good news, however, a new addition to the cast will make the hearts of anyone who saw the glorious 80's camp classic Supergirl skip a beat. Hart Bochner (who was my first movie star crush ... it was the first time I noticed a man filling out a pair of blue jeans) joins as the love interest of Molly, and will no doubt have to spend lots of time telling her how thin she looks.

Be still, my beating Hart

You can see a promo for the new series after the break, and let us know in the comments if you'll be giving the show a try.
