The "Top Design" finale airs tonight! But is it really worth an exclamation point?

Maybe it's because my home is furnished with pizza boxes (they make a great chaise lounge) and cursed antiques from the "Curious Goods" store (damn you, Robey!), but I've never been able to get into Bravo's Top Design.

The finale airs tonight, and above you can see a sneak peek. We're interested to know how many people are still watching, and how many people lost interest along the way. Or did it just never appeal to you at all?

I thought the contestants were fine.

The 3 that I picked at the beginning have made it to the finals (Preston is still my favorite).

However, the judges left a lot to be desired. If I had to sit there and listen to the likes of Kelly Wearstler, all gussied up in her clown clothes, tell me how lousy my taste was, I would have been forced to hand her her head. Good lord, the woman dressed like she fled a burning building and grabbed a fright wig and a large bath mat on the way out the door. Yet she's being lauded as some sort of maven of the decorating world.

    You said it all! This

You said it all! This show... See you later, Decorator!

    Over it completely

Kelly Worstler or whatever her name is was only part of the problem.  India Hicks is vapid and Jonny Adler makes me want to scream, especially when that elfin husband of his checks in.  Like virtually everything else on Bravo, it's just a thinly disguised advertorial for Pier 1 and a bunch of overpriced furniture boutiques near the LA merchandise mart.

    So glad Nathan won.  I

So glad Nathan won.  I don't think I could stand looking at another one of Preston's "hotel-inspired" rooms...

    Not-so-Top Design

I've been watching this series all along, but have to admit that the finale was a bummer. I wasn't crazy about any of their work last night, and especially hated Nathan's crappy-looking paper-plate chandelier. I was rooting for Preston, who won the previous two challenges; his work was usually more stylish and swanky. Apparently, viewers agreed because over 60% picked Preston to win during their on-air poll. (Preston also had the disadvantage of being partnered with the bitchy backbiter Eddie, who so clearly envied his rival. I loved last week's episode of ''Top Design'' where guest judge Jeff Lewis (''Flipping Out'') ripped Eddie's design sense as skewing too old and associated it with ''bedpans, walkers and oxygen tanks.''  By comparison, Preston always stayed classy, like his rooms.

    Here's the Deal

For several weeks, the most exciting this about Top Design was waiting to see what ridiculous clothes several 'cast' members would be donning.  That has to tell you something.

Maybe its me, but I have a few suggestions to make it a better show next season, if there is one.

    1.  Shirtless Designers!!! They did with the the news, they can do it with Top Desgign

    2. Erotic/exotic design challenges.  This week on Top Design you are designing a bath house....This week on Top Design you are designing the interior of a SM club...This week on top design you are desgining Satan's Master Bedroom...I know i'd friggin watch that!

    3.  Put the fun back into Design.  There was nothing fun at all about this season. (And thank god Eddie went back up marthas ass before the finale!) Oops, did i say that?

    4.  More Celebrity guests! I know, i know, but i was so hoping that hunky Rick Shroeder would show his face at least once during the season!  I admit I have no shame.

    5.  Here's an idea!  Have a Top whatever (be it Design, Chef, model, oops different network) battle royale a la American Gladiator. Yeah, id watch that too.

    Happy Thursday

    peace,
