"Ugly Betty" to lose two characters, but it may not be who you think!

Fans of Ugly Betty are in for an interesting second half of the season, with a new cast member, a family emergency, and twisted romantic entanglements.

Now comes word that two characters are exiting the show, one voluntarily, and one ... in a bodybag!

Ashley Jensen

According to "sources", the cast member who's leaving voluntarily is Ashley Jensen, who plays pregnant seamstress Christina. She's asked to be released from her contract, and will apparently be written out towards the end of the season.

I don't blame Ashley, really. Christina isn't given all that much to do (besides being pushed down steps and carrying the spawn of Hell), and Ashley is probably tired of America (the country, not the actress) and its crazy gay reality stars.

As to the second cast member leaving (and whose character will be killed off), it's being kept hush-hush, but according to the article, "it's someone who just came on board this season and whom the fans, and a certain Meade, fancy."

From that description it would appear that Molly's days are numbered (she joined this season, and she's quite fancied by Daniel).

This could be good news for Betty's father Ignacio, though. With his heart attack last week it appeared he was on his way out, but now that they're planning to kill off another character, it seems unlikely that they'd have two deaths so close to each other.
