Under the Covers 22: Help us Rename These Strange, Forgotten, or Just Plain Creepy Gay-Themed Films — Anime Edition Redux!
Sure, working here in the AfterElton.com Blungeon™ (Blog + dungeon) is a never-ending parade of cute puppies and lollipops, but sometimes things get a bit hectic, and we need help from our faithful readers. We received a moldy cardboard box from upstairs full of obscure or forgotten gay-themed films, with orders to alphabetize them. Unfortunately, the titles on all the covers have been blacked out! This is where you come in. Every week we'll present the cover art for a gay-themed film and ask you to create a new title based just on the cover art. We'll pick our favorite, and announce the winner the next week (along with the real title of the film). Take a look at the cover art above and take your best shot. And below you can see the real title of last week's entry, as well as our favorite faux title. And if you happen to know the movie's real title, we ask that you don't post it!
More great titles, but we went with this one because it might actually breathe new life into daytime's original gay supercouple. The Animated Adventures of Luke and Noah by Javi. Congratulations, and thanks to everyone for participating. And keep those submissions coming (and once again, please don't reveal the real title). Submitted by on Wed, 2009-11-11 12:50. |

Did you run out of crazy movies?
Picking on anime two times in a row, huh? And yaoi anime of all things! *laughs* Well, I can garantee you'll find no shortage of strange and bizarre movies but I can hardly see how this is creative. Are there really no other movies that you can find?
Anime is bizarre, period. But Yaoi anime...its just a genre of rediculous stories made from the fantasys of Japanese women--for other women. Hell, even its creators don't take it seriously.
Making fun of the art style is also nothing new. Big eyes, pastel colours, unrealistic porportions---thats any anime aimed at girls and young women. :-/
*shrugg* Sorry I had to say something. I normally find Under the Covers to be interesting and fun to read. But this is pretty bleh.
