Video: "Beautiful People" (Ep. 5): "How I Got My Tongs"

Yes, we're back again with another full episode for you of the Brit import Beautiful People, currently airing on Logo (our parent company).

This week's absolutely hilarious episode involves "golden tongs", the death of an icon, and Melissa Manchester's classic Don't Cry Out Loud.

Enjoy!

    Very funny episode indeed

For some reason, while this show has grown on me, I find myself still not "dying" to watch it. The first couple of eps were okay at best, but in this one it feels like it really hit its stride. I didn't watch the 3rd or 4th ep since I felt like the 1st and 2nd, while cute, were'nt good enough to keep my attention, but watching this 5th one has changed my mind. It was ridiculously funny, fun, and a great overall ep (though them saying "beautiful people" in EVERY ep is getting old fast!). If the others of this season are this good, it might just become a "must watch" for me.

    Don't Cry Out Loud

was a wonderful choice for the dual lipsynch by Simon & Kylie - those overly-melodramatic power ballads are the best for gay boys to practice their moves in front of the mirror... at least that's what I hear.

I was sad to see Tameka go - I was hoping she'd be a recurring character for the run of the show, if there's going to be more than one series.

The cameo by the adult Kylie at the end was a good piece of casting - he looked just like an older version of Layton Williams.

I know there's another new episode left to air in Series 1 - any reason they're putting on a rerun next week?

Yes, Tameka will be missed.  But she's bound to show up on another great series.  My question: what tripped them all up at the end?  Had someone left the tongs on the runway?

    Good work

This is hilarious; Beautiful People is a show for those who want to relax in stressful days of work. Laughing is always good medicine for stress and depression. For some watching basketball/baseball or other sports is their way of bonding and relaxation. But did you know the latest? In sport world the news of Shaq traded to Cavs is of special significance because that means that the basketball sensation of the least decade will be playing alongside LeBron James.  He was traded from the Phoenix Suns, after spending time with the Miami Heat, and a previous stint famously playing alongside Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers under Phil Jackson.  The trade included a draft pick, and also Shaq traded to Cavs for some fast cash, and its likely Shaq will never need personal loans as long as he lives.
