Which primetime show should Neil Patrick Harris invade next?
Neil Patrick Harris continues his diabolical plot to take over primetime TV, something we've been meticulously following with a corkboard and push pins in the AfterElton office. In addition to his role as horndog Barney on How I Met Your Mother, NPH has also recently presided over the 2009 Tony Awards, the 7th Annual TV Land Awards, will host the upcoming Emmy Awards, appeared as himself on Top Chef Masters and Family Guy ... and that's just within the last few months. Now comes word that NPH is taking the ultimate step ... as a guest judge on American Idol. So the question we present to you is "What other primetime show would benefit from a touch of NPH?" Here are a few suggestions:
Those are just a few examples. What shows do you think would benefit from a touch of NPH? Submitted by on Thu, 2009-08-27 15:27. |

wow...
besides desperate housewives, DWTS is another show that nobody could get me to watch. I think they need new hosts. that tom bergon or whatever = annoyiiiiing
plus, NPH can do better than DWTS. :-P
DWTS
DWTS seems to be for people who used to be stars...and even some that never really were. I like the Gay Survivor idea!!
How about Mad Men?? We know from Barney, he looks good in suits!

Doogie Howser
Doogie meets Jackie
For obvious reasons
I'd really like to see NPH and Barrowman on season IV of Torchwood. Ianto's gone, but as pointed out earlier, NPH looks good in a suit too.
Pope Skippy XVI
Awwww!
You beat me to it! NPH on Torchwood would be the best!
NPH & Barrowman snogging....THUD!
"Dancing With the Stars" would be great
if NPH and David were allowed to compete as a couple.
Besides that -- Of Course He Should Host The Oscars!
Dancing With The Stars would be good
The Big Bang Theory!
CBS Crossover! NPH plays Barney and hooks up with Penny... and is intrigued/ attracted to Sheldon, mainly because he doesn't get the kind of attention from Sheldon that he does from everyone else. He makes it his mission to woo Sheldon.

The Wire Hanger
Not primetime but....
...NPH on
Ridiculous Drama of The American TeenagerSecret Life of the American Teenager. As one of Griffen's gay brothers. :)I like the idea of TW and NPH... but I'd rather they bring back GDL and have a fling between NPH-character and Ianto. And then we would get to see deadbeat Jack get all jealous.

variations on a theme
Any combination of NPH on Torchwood with Barrowman getting jealous would be great. Maybe, NPH can disappear with John Hart? (after a significant length of time, of course)
OR, for Gay Celebrity Couple Survivor, put the folks someplace dangerous (Temple Square in Utah comes to mind...) and as part of their challenges the should cook a gourment meal for a "legal" wedding, design a dress in 12 hours, eat a bug, and then Ballroom Dance. The couples that make it through would then have to race to the next dangerous destination (a gay bar in Fort Worth comes to mind...). I'd watch it. :-)

Yes, in general...
It would be fun to see JB get jealous of NPH in any context.

Here ya go
Man, he'd get destroyed...
...but in an adorable way.

NPH on "Torchwood" would be great only if --
Just thought of a "Big Bang Theory" scenario for NPH
NPH (as his real as opposed to Harold and Kumar self) makes a personal appearance at the comic book story to autography copies of a new Dr. Horrible comic book. Leonard (Jim Parsons) spots David Burtka and while the others are busy with Neal makes a pass -- and a date to meet him later.
The rest of the show is a war of wits (and words) between Leonard and NPH to win David.
