"Will gay for Oscar": Daniel Craig's former co-star thinks Bond would bend for the gold
Remember that rumour going around last year that Daniel Craig wanted a gay love scene in the next Bond movie? We covered it HERE (and check out the scintillating comments). Well, a former co-star of his is now saying that Daniel would be willing to do the scene, in exchange for an Academy Award.
Yes, because we all remember the triumphant moment when both Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall strutted on stage to accept their awards back in 2005. The memory-challenged Hassan also is adamant about never stooping to that level: "You couldn't get me doing that though - my son would never forgive me! I've got a 16-year-old son, so can you imagine? He would get ridiculed for it. And he's at a professional soccer club too - can you imagine the dressing room banter?! So, no, they couldn't get me doing that. They can keep the Oscar and I'll keep my virginity!" Yes, the children...won't someone please think of the children! Seeing how Daniel has played gay before, and remains Oscar-less, I highly doubt he would think a gay Bond scene would bring him the gold. Besides, if any Bond scene should win him an award, it would be this one (you know the scene i'm talking about). Submitted by on Thu, 2008-03-20 08:37. |

Yeah I read that yesterday
Besides being homophobic, Mr. Hassan is also apparently jealous of Mr. Craig's superior skills as an actor.
Mr. Hassan can get him and his son a few things to make life easier: #1- A tee-shirt with the new "Some People Are Gay -- Get Over It" slogan now being used in the UK and #2 a personal trimmer for himself (being used for years now the world over.) Can you say "Uni-brow"?
Don't trouble yourself Doctor -- I'm a celebrity, I'll write my own prescription.
Hunting Oscar
Actors do win awards sometimes for playing gay (Tom Hanks for example), but of course it's conditional on the performance and on the Academy voters not just on playing gay for obvious reasons. However, I recall an interview where Tom Hanks was asked about explaining to his kids and their peers his playing gay. Hanks's answer was that he would tell them: "Daddy's an actor."
Will Smith openly admits that Six Degrees of Separation was critical to his subsequent career success because it helped him break free from his hip-hop boy image from Fresh Prince of Bellaire.
Some actors, however, never want to play roles that are outside their preferred self-image. Hassan seems to have felt the need in his homophobic stint to assert his own "manhood" twice, both in himself and in making it clear that his son is an athelete (manly fathers produce manly sons). Clearly he worries a lot about his "manhood".
Huh?
