Apropos of nothing...
John Partridge (openly gay in real-life and playing gay Christian on EastEnders) recently won 'Sexiest male actor' on the 2009 Inside Soap awards. Given that he's openly gay and his character is gay and Inside Soap doesn't have a specifically gay demographic, I was incredibly proud of soap fans in the UK. I know Inside Soap quite well and as far as I can tell, it doesn't have any gay staff (despite most of the male editorial people being enjoyably cute when observed from a distance), so there was no 'gay agenda' nonsense - the readers really did make the choice.
So yes, it might have been nice to see Christian included here. But having said that, this is an American site. However, it works damn hard to be international and is infinitely more inclusive of stuff happening elsewhere in the world than many other American-based websites. Let's face it, one of the reasons we non-Yanks read this site and comment so often is because the editorial staff and most of the commenters either know about events in the rest of the world or are prepared to learn about them.
Jude, let's give AE a free pass on this one? They're understaffed and they give us all this mass of high quality free content. OK, sometimes they miss non-US stories, but in this instance it's not a big deal. It's a great article that manages to be funny, witty and intelligent - and really, really , really creative.
I think we should just accept this feature for what it is - and what is is is infinitely better than most of the dross we get on other gay sites, be they American or not.

As an anglophile, I also am very proud of the English viewers. Especially when, not that long ago ( OK a few years back LOL), there was some anger over the straight AIDS story line.

These charts are entirely amusing. I kept changing my answers to get to different conclusions, and I was hardly ever disappointed with the results!
(Although, I notice that this site is again referring to Scotty as Walker, this time without even a hypen. Could someone please explain to me the reasoning behind this? We've never heard him or anyone else refer to the character as such on the show, and even the revamped ABC web site and other press releases refer to him as Wandell. There's no evidence that he changed his name, so I don't get why I keep seeing it this way, especially since Kevin remains simply Walker.)
