Gay Scientistics: Fort Worth Police Department "celebrates" Stonewall

By now we’re all familiar with last weekend's gay-bashing police raid that went down at Fort Worth’s Rainbow Lounge. Investigations are underway by both the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Forth Worth police, and now it looks like even the U.S. Attorney's office is going to get involved.

We've had a week to ruminate on the homophobic assault and compile plenty of data, which we've analyzed for you below, in easy-to-read chart format!

First, according to CrimeMapping.com — the third party resource that the Forth Worth police department recommends for crime-related queries — these are the offenses that were committed on the day of the Rainbow Lounge raid.

Additionally, Forth Worth had 26 counts of murder, 141 counts of forcible rape, 4,061 counts of robbery, 943 counts of aggravated assault, and 2,678 stolen cars from January through May of this year.

So, you know, why not use up valuable law enforcement agents to beat up gay people for hanging out with their friends. It's not like the officer had anything better to be doing with their time!

Let us illustrate. Here's what was happening in Forth Worth on the day of the Rainbow Lounge raid:

Of course, police chief Jeff Halstead had an explanation for why the bar was targeted, and why patrons were roughed up by his officers: "You're touched and advanced in certain ways by people inside the bar, that's offensive," he said. "I'm happy with the restraint used when they were contacted like that."

Glad you're happy, Halstead. You're in great company.

Finally, we had to wonder what other minorities Forth Worth police might be able to target, just to spread their good cheer all around town.

Are there any further conclusions you can draw from the data we've provided?

    Yes.

The greatest threat to citizens of Fort Worth has been dealt a serious blow.  Justice will always prevail against the homosexual scourge!  It must be stamped out wherever possible.  Thanks to these brave men, sheet wearing, god fearing people every where in Fort Worth may rest easy.

As for your other suggestions.  Good ideas!  They'll be sure to get on those right quick.

    Ummm... you're just brilliant

Thank you for this post. It's funny. It's horrifying. It's pertinent. Just thank you, really.

    Hold on...

...so the police dude thinks it's all fine and dandy to resort to violence when officers are TOUCHED by gay bar-goers, but that area had 141 counts of RAPE in 5 months (and keep in mind that under 40% of rapes are actually reported).

Let's rephrase:  straight men physically and violently attacking women?  Okay.  (Yes, I know that it's not always straight men attacking women, but it usually is.)  Gay men brushing straight men in a crowded, public place?  Not okay!  This is clearly where we need our officers!  Straight men attacking gay men for brushing them?  Also okay.

    I've barely seen any direct

I've barely seen any direct criticism (from the blogger circuit) of his line where he claims to be happy that the police officers showed "restraint". I truly hope that the justice system will jump on this and fire his ass.

He's happy that they showed "restraint"? What, because beating a man unconscious and into a state where his life was in danger is showing restraint? Because some other men had maybe touched them "inappropriately"? What is this, the "gay panic" defense? Only if it's in a gay bar, you're OK to beat anyone, even if they didn't actually do anything?

And he's happy? Why? Because the victim didn't die?! Because beating someone into a critical condition is A-OK if they're gay? I mean, as long as they don't die, that's appropriate restraint, right? Fire that chief of BS. And bar him from ever working on the force again. We can only imagine what would've happened if this had been an isolated incident between a single gay man and a cop. He'd probably been on the front lines to cover it up.

    The Crime Map

The article is wonderful, and very funny.  However, in the location map, you have the bar sitting in Lake Worth, Tx.  The Rainbow club is located just south of Downtown on Jennings Street, about 18 miles to the SE. :)
