levi...
levi johnston actually knows a big word like "sociopathic"?
who would've thought?
AAHHHHHHH! MY DVR FREAKED OUT!!
Not only did it not record "Glee" (it recorded bits of the 10:00 news--over and over again!), it deleted two screens' worth of movies I'd taped over the summer, including PBS' "Cyrano de Bergerac" with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner. Sometimes I HATE technology. :( Thank heavens they're rerunning it Friday night; maybe then more of this recap will make sense.
To top it off, my partner was totally blase about it: "Oh, it's just TV." Says the man who lives on "Law and Order" and "House" reruns ad infinitum, with the occasional dose of Food Network or--hurl!--"Hell's Kitchen." Gotta wonder.
10/10
Well,Obama Bashing Aside....
I'm totally not impressed
OMG
Oh, I got a question
Glee - Will it Fizzle Out?
I hope and pray that Glee live a full happy life on my TV! But, unfortunately this type of show, musical, does not have a good TV track record. If the show stays fresh then it will keep my interest.

I have tried liking this show
I know that, as an accomplished homosexual, I'm supposed to be enraptured by this show, but I'm just NOT. I do like some of the musical numbers, and the scenes with Jane Lynch...but everything else just leaves me flat. The wife isn't a real character, just a weird cliche, and I don't believe a moment of the stories. It feels like the velveeta cheese of storytelling...actually, more artificial than that. Do I have to stop being a homosexual now, or something?
The blog won't let me stop.
Not Everyone Has to be Full of GLEE
I don't understand why everyone feels like they have to LOVE Glee.
I adore it but if you don't it's not that big of a deal.
It's just like any other show, you either love it or you don't. No biggie.
I remember people churning themselves into butter over Pushing Daisies which I also adored and many folks just hated or didn't get or were bored by it or couldn't suspend disbelief or whatever.
But they could just be like, "Meh, not for me". No need to trash a show you don't like and don't intend to watch.
It feels sometimes like it's not enough that some folks don't like a show (for whatever reason) they also feel the need to compell people who do to explain why they liked it or try to convince them to like it.
If folks are only watching Glee for Kurt (and yes, this is A.E. so I know that's why we talk about him so much) people are going to be disappointed. It's an ensemble cast with a LOT of characters and Kurt isn't the lead.
There's so much on tv (and actually a lot of other tv shows with gay characters and gay storylines).
Glee it's just one show. IMO
Why make such a fuss?
I agree with both
wagville and Crawfish. On the one hand, yes,it's not like our membresy will be revoked if we don't like Glee. On the other hand, it's getting so much coverage as the next gay show that one feels it's almost a duty (to support our cause) to like the show. I have to say I've only seen the first season episode and it's kinda fun, but I don't feel compelled to follow it just because there is a gay character (and I watch absolutely anything with a gay character in it). I think so much "publicity" within the community set me up for a disappointment and now I don't feel like I want to watch the show (even if Mathew Morrison is naked in the bathtub).
That's not what you said last night...Nicely done
I have to say I'm really enjoying how they relish being politically incorrect in a charming way.
And Finn ain't too hard on the eyes. ;-)
I'm excited to see the Kurt and his father scene other posts have talked about.
I don't think I have to follow it because there's a gay character, I want to watch it because it's funny and I might've been hoping for a show that's a little bit of a musical for five years... If that doesn't qualify me for a decrease in my Gays Who Like Morrison and Musicals union dues, I don't know what will.
