• I give up. Yesterday I was intrigued at the prospect of Tilda Swinton remaking Auntie Mame, and now I'm being punished for letting up on my remake hatred. Planes are underway for a new version of Carrie. On the plus side, Kimberly Pierce is being eyed as director, but still, didn't the musical and deadly dull TV remake teach anyone anything?

• Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, and Christopher Walken are in talks to star in Freezing People Is Easy, about the man who tried to pioneer cryogenics. Surprisingly, it's not a Walt Disney picture.

• In ratings news, Work It! had a mediocre, but not entirely disastrous debut.

• The ax has fallen on The Martha Stewart Show.

• Hugh Jackman will return to Broadway in the title role of Houdini, written by Aaron Sorkin with music by Stephen Schwartz.

• The new cast of Celebrity Apprentice has been finalized, and Arsenio Hall, Clay Aiken, Adam Carolla, Lou Ferrigno, Penn Jillette, Dee Snider, George Takei, Michael Andretti, Paul Teutul Sr., Cheryl Tiegs, Debbie Gibson, Tia Carrere, Victoria Gotti, Lisa Lampanelli, Dayana Mendoza, Aubrey O’Day, Patricia Velásquez, and Teresa Giudice will be working for a Bag Of Dessicated Orange Meat And Hair.
