AfterElton Briefs: "Gynecology Project," Adam and Jane on Marriage Equality, "American Idol" Takes a Dip, and More!
Happy 32nd Birthday to out singer Will Young
- Last night Elton performed at a benefit for the American Foundation for Equal Rights, which raised more than $3 milion dollars in the fight for marriage-equality. He also had a few choice words for opponents.
- Below you can see video of Jason Mraz, Jane Lynch, and Adam Lambert at the benefit talking about equality, and Adam possibly using potty-mouth (i'm not entirely sure, he could've just been slurring his words.)
- Out producers Neil Meron,Craig Zadan and out director Bryan Singer are bringing a biopic of director/choreographer Bob Fosse to HBO.
- Thoughts go out to legendary music producer Nile Rodgers, who's battling an aggressive form of cancer. If you listened to pop music in the 80's, he was an integral part of your life.
- Below you can see David Spade on the set of his new comedy with Adam Sandler, Jack and Jill. I'm busting a gut already.

- The finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs tonight on Bravo, and below you can see a sneak peek of next week's reunion show. And it looks ... awesome! Camille playing the victim, Disney sisters Kyle and Kim at each other's throats (literally), and Lisa and her husband talking about the their volcanic falling out with gay houseguest Cedric.
- In ratings news, last night's return of American Idol was its lowest rated season premiere since its debut in 2002. Meanwhile, Modern Family was unaffected by the competition, and was actually up 10% over last week.
- EW.com has a fascinating list of some of the projects that producers are trying to sell to the networks for pilot season. How about a re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz, set in New York? Or a modern version of The Munsters by out Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller? Or something with the hopefully temporary title of Gynecology Project, about two doctors, one gay and one straight, and the women they ... encounter.
- In today's Australian Open report, Venus Williams is the last American woman standing. She may have won her match, but she lost her dignity with this monstrosity she's wearing (which I fear she designed herself). It looks like she has an apple pie warming on her stomach.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
