AfterElton Briefs: Russell Davies on His Future in Sci-Fi, "Born This Way - The Blog," Happy Birthday Teenage Dream, and More!

Here's last week's caption pic winner. This week's caption pic is at the bottom of the page.

Thanks to everyone for participating! The winner is ...

""I really have to stop making those silly bets with Betty White."

Thanks to dostka for this week's winning caption.

Happy Birthday to Darren Criss, who turns 24 this weekend!

  • Russell Davies talks to the BBC about what's coming up in the new season of Ianto's Dead So What's The Point, and about Russell's future in the sci-fi genre.
  • Below you can see the first poster for Captain America. Is it just me, or does the poster do everything it can to bring your eyes down to the crotchal area of The Other Evans Brother? Please say it's not just me.

  • Elton John is hoping that one day Rush Limbaugh can support marriage equality. Oh, and he thinks British pop music is crap, but he adores Lady Gaga.
  • The Spoiler Room has info on upcoming episodes of Modern Family, 90210 and Sporatacus.
  • Puppy Bowl VII airs Sunday at 3 PM EST on Animal Planet, and below you can see a behind-the-scenes look from Popeater. I don't know if I'm going to lift my boycott this year. In the past I've refused to watch because they only gave kittens about five minutes during the half-time show. Please! The mutts should step aside and let this be the first .... KITTY BOWL!

  • You must immediately head over to the awesome new site Born This Way, "A photo/essay project for gay adults (male and female) to submit pictures from their childhood (roughly ages 2 to 12) - with snapshots that capture them, innocently, showing the beginnings of their innate GLBT selves." It is hilarious, and illuminating.
  • Super Bowl Media Day brought out the dregs of reporting, including one woman who asked a Green Bay Packer if he would turn gay if that would guarantee a Super Bowl victory for the team.
  • Finally, thanks to everyone who participated in my 80's Meme Quiz. No one got all the movies right, but Addison Dewitt was the closest. Here are the answers: The Pirate Movie, The Lonely Lady, The Apple, Aliens, Day of the Dead, Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean, My Bloody Valentine, Hairspray, Angel, Evil Dead 2.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
