AfterElton Briefs: John Amaechi on Kobe Bryant, "TMZ for Kidz," "Gay Icon" is Officially Overused, and More!

Here's last week's caption pic winner. This week's caption pic is at the bottom of the page.

Thanks to everyone for participating! The winner is ...

"Do these horizontal stripes make me look hippy?."

Thanks to Miz Liz for this week's winning caption.

  • Happy 45th Birthday to the out Samantha Fox. I've said it many times, but the pop tarts of today will never match Sam's vivacity and innocent naughtiness. Here she is performing the 80's classic "Touch Me," and hey, she's actually singing live! How novel.

  • dot429 has an interview with Chuck London, Director of International Productions at NBCUniversal, about being gay at E!
  • Below you can see a tease from Monday's RuPaul's Drag Race, which takes a look back (in angora) at the third season, in anticipation of the grand finale.

  • Here's a new one. BET "reality star" Toya Carter tweeted last week, "It breaks my heart to see kids under 18 Gay." She was asked to clarify, and responded, "First of all, I’ve never seen a kid that young gay before. Not that I have anything against the gay community. I have lots of gay cousins and friends or whatever. And I meant no harm or meant to offend anybody by that comment. It just was shocking to me." Apparently, a "gay cousin" had to explain to her that people recognize their sexuality before they become adults.
  • This weekend will mark the last performances of Julie Taymor's vision of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, and in the web that is their own, they'll begin again. (Yes, I went there. And from now until her album is released on May 3rd, I will plant a subliminal Stevie reference in every briefs! This is your only warning.)
  • Below you can see the latest webisode of Then We Got Help, as bisexual Vance brings his boyfriend to group.

  • Did you know that one of those Bravo Housewives is a gay icon? Me neither.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

Here's your caption pic for the week. Drop your caption ideas in the comments (And please remember to keep the captions PG-13!)
