AfterElton Briefs: RuPaul's Queens Sashay One Last Time, "Glee" Takes Manhattan, and Ron Moore's "17th Precinct" Characters

Is anyone besides me thrilled to see Kurt out of that dull blazer?

  • Glee has been filming in New York City this week, presumably for Nationals. Above you can see Chris Colfer looking his best dapper Kurt with Diana Agron in Times Square. Meanwhile, a possible musical spoiler was tweeted out by Brad Falchuk.
  • Last night the winner was announced in RuPaul's Drag Race and you know what that means - exit interviews! Join John Polly's 1972 mustache as he talks to Alexis Mateo. And if you still haven't watched the finale, obviously this contains spoilers.

  • According to Alan Cumming, ""There are some really good things about fame, and then there are some really sh**ty things." He loves the adoration, but could do without the loss of privacy. He also wants his Johnny Rockets VIP card reactivated since he wasn't the celebrity who abused the privilege.
  • The Washington Blade is set to relaunch this Friday with a whole new design, risen from the ashes of bankruptcy to again be the largest circulation gay newpaper. In related news, the marvelous Phil Reese, who showed me around San Francisco a couple months back, has joined the paper as a staff writer.
  • Next in line for an exit interview is Manila Luzon, who shares what mistake she got away with on the show while talking with John Polly. Fortunately, there was no instant replay.

  • I'm a social media fanatic, and a big fan of Tumblr for sharing things that interest me. I find a lot of things for Memes on various "F**k Yeah ..." Tumblrs. But in MTV's O Music Awards, the absolute favorite "F**k Yeah ..." Tumblr was F**k Yeah Adam Lambert.
  • I have to admit, I can't get excited about the royal wedding. But like Daniel Radcliffe said last night on Jimmy Fallon, many Americans are more excited about the event than the Brits. For those people, here are the possible dress options for the princess-to-be.
  • For our third and final exit interview for RuPaul's Drag Race, we check in with the dominant force all season, Raja!

  • Over at io9.com they take a look at Ron Moore's new pilot, 17th Precinct, with the magical detectives and the cast of all his previous shows united. As we told you a few months ago, the show has Lt. Liam Butterfield, who used to be Lisa Butterfield, and is touchy about the subject, "saying lots of stuff about how he's not Lisa any more, inside or outside." He's being played by Esai Morales, who played gay gangster Sam Adama's brother on Caprica.
  • In a remarkable bit of brutal honesty, the Human Rights Campaign says it absolutely pressured clients of King & Spalding to drop the defense of DOMA. Other reports are saying it was a frosty call from Coca-Cola that finally made the law firm change their mind. In completely unrelated news, all Morning Memes brought to you courtesy of Coke Zero.
  • Former NBA star John Amaechi talks about athletes as role models, Kobe Bryant, making a sincere apology, and why the NBA fine was appropriate.

  • Also in the theater world, the Outer Critics Awards nominations are out, and naturally many gay and gay favorites are included, from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, The Normal Heart, War Horse, The Importance of Being Earnest, and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.
    • Since I just mentioned Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the cast was on The View today. I think I tweeted during the performance that the only thing that could outshine Nick Adams' biceps was that megawatt smile.

      • The Tennessee House is voting to repeal protected status for sexual orientation passed by Nashville recently. So much for Republicans wanting power to be wielded locally.
      • Longtime readers of AfterElton.com know that Dennis Hensley goes to all the most interesting events, and takes us along for the ride. Here he takes to Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts.

      • Rubgy hunk Ben Cohen talks with the Accidental Bear about how his wife dealw with him being an object of lust for so many gay men, and also a bit about what the future holds for the beyond-his-prime-at-32 player.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
