AfterElton Briefs: "Beaches: The Musical," Kristin Chenoweth's "Dreams," Lee Pace is an Elven King, and More!

Happy Birthday to Pandora Boxx, who turns 39, and David Beckham, who is 36.

  • The Ali Forney Center in NYC will be sponsoring a community forum on homeless GLBT youth tomorrow, May 3rd, at 7 PM EST at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
  • After Rachel Griffiths joked at an Australian awards show that, "I'm soon to be unemployed," Brothers & Sisters fans immediately thought the writing was on the wall for the show. But ABC insists that no decision has been made yet, and it may come down to the wire, when the network finally announces the fall schedule on May 16th.
  • Lady Gaga has revealed the track list and back cover art for Born This Way. I guess a song titled "Highway Unicorn" was sort of inevitable.

  • Iris Rainer Dart is preparing a stage musical of her classic weepie novel Beaches. But the novel differs from the Bette Midler movie version, so we may not to get to see anyone die to "Wind Beneath My Wings." (h/t Towleroad)
  • AE fave Lee Pace has been cast as Elven King Thranduil in The Hobbit.
  • The J. Crew May 2011 catalog features its employees as models, including gay designer Somsack with his boyfriend. Expect outrage soon. But on a side note ... Somsack?

  • Cheyenne Jackson will perform the opening song, "Ask The Universe " at the Vienna's Life Ball event on May 21. Also on on the bill are Brooke Shields, President Bill Clinton and Janet Jackson, and that's a lineup you'll probably never see together again.
  • I've been trying to keep an open mind about Glee pillaging the Fleetwood Mac iconic album Rumours on tomorrow night's show. Luckily, the fabulous Kristin Chenoweth takes on "Dreams," so the only worry I have now is who's going to do "Gold Dust Woman." I'm praying for Kurt.
  • Finally, below you can see Logo (our parent company)'s Keith Edwards get reactions from those on site at the World Trade Center following the death of Osama Bin Laden.
