AfterElton Briefs: "Ski Camp: Episode One," Catching Up With Reichen, "Shirts & Skins," Previewing "Drag U," and More!
Happy 28th Birthday to Jake Silbermann. *sigh* I wonder if Luke and Noah are together?
- Those safe-sex ads I mentioned in yesterday's Briefs have been reinstated, thanks to the outpouring of criticism that ad company Adshel received.
- Below you can see the first episode of Ski Camp, the sequel to the Aussie web series Surf Camp. "The five Ski Campers – Mike, Kirk, Dan, Brodie and Adam – face challenge after challenge to whittle them down each episode until there is just one winner left. Who will be the ultimate Ski Camp champ? You will decide." Hmm ... I think my favorite is the guy with no body hair.
- Former Iowa Republican state senator Jeff Angelo is launching Iowa Republicans for Freedom, a new advocacy group to build conservative support for marriage-equality in Iowa. The group hopes to "give voice to Iowans who believe that conservative values of smaller government should keep government out of the private lives of all Iowans."
- The D.C. Gay Flag Football League will release the two-year calendar titled Shirts & Skins on August 9th, with half of the proceeds funding GLBT youth based programming. If this preview is any indication, it should be Skins & Skins.

- Outfest will present its 15th Annual Achievement Award to super-producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato on Thursday, July 7th at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
- There's a new video art installation at historic Philadelphia prison Eastern State Penitentiary. "Michelle Handelman’s Beware the Lily Law uses the 1969 Stonewall Riots as a starting point to address issues facing gay and transgender inmates."
- Below you can see a sneak peek at the upcoming season of Drag U, which premieres June 20th on Logo (our parent company).
- Speaking of Logo series, The A-List: New York returns for Season Two on July 25th, and below you can catch up with what Reichen has been up to since the end of Season One. Strangely, he doesn't mention everything that's happened to him.
- Brett Berk talks to Glee stars Max Adler, Ashley Fink, Harry Shum, Jr., Josh Sussman and Iqbal Theba about their summer plans.
- Now that NBC has canceled The Event, plans are underway for Syfy to continue it as a mini-series.
