AfterElton Briefs: "Southland" Casting, Darren Criss Will Get Busy With Kristen Wiig, Gaga on "The View," and More!

  • Well, after the dust has settled, it turns out that Cowboys & Aliens has narrowly edged out The Smurfs for #1 at the box office.
  • Adorkable Chris Hayes will anchor a new weekend show on MSNBC starting September 17th. It will air live on Saturdays from 7 - 9 AM ET, and Sunday 8 - 10 AM ET, amidst shows about brawls caught on camera and psycho stalkers.

  • Production is going forward on Die Hard 5: Keep Your Damn Hands Off My Medicaid!, with Bruce Willis reprising his role as that guy from all the other Die Hard movies.
  • Allison Janney and John Benjamin Hickey stopped by Watch What Happens Live last night, and in the clip below, you can see a surprising tidbit about John and Andy Cohen revealed.

  • Jeri Ryan guest stars on Warehouse 13 tonight, and starting on August 29th, her Star Trek: Voyager co-star Kate Mulgrew will join the cast in a four-episode arc. That SQUEE! you heard was mine.
