• Modern Family creator Steve Levitan has come up with a solution for his beef with Hulu: Include all the same commercials you'd get from watching it on ABC, make the online viewer numbers available to anyone, and if viewers want to watch without commercials, charge them a fee.

• The U.S. Open starts Monday, and like many tennis fanatics, nothing else will matter to me for the next two weeks. • For the very first time, I can say "I'm so looking forward to the new season of Desperate Housewives!" Why? Because of the debut of Vanessa Williams. I'm hoping she can provide the same kind of much-needed spark that Joan Collins brought when she joined Dynasty.
