AfterElton Briefs: Chrolli Live!, Tim is Gunning, A Birthday Bear, Plus Bryan Safi Asks Us to Stop ... Stalking Him?

Plus flying the gay-friendly skies, Matthew Mitcham's footie advice, dissecting Federbear's tweener, and will The Arrangement smell like a rose ... or something else?

How can you say no to that face?

  • Matthew Mitcham is interviewed by heraldsun.com and drops a few interesting tidbits. He calls Jason Akermanis (who infamously said gay athletes should stay in the closet) "irrelevant," he thinks the time is right for closeted footie players to come out, and about being one of the few openly gay high-profile athletes he says "It's a part of me that I love and enjoy and I like being known as gay. I see it as something positive, so it's just another positive thing to be known as."
  • If the trailer for Logo's The A List doesn't tempt you to watch the show (and judging by the comments, it doesn't) then maybe this trailer for another Logo show will do the trick. The floral design competition series The Arrangement is almost upon us, and judging by the trailer, the show is ... the show is ... the show is debuting on Logo Monday, October 4 at 11PM EST

  • Great news for fans of Forbidden Love. Joe Weil and Thore Schölermann will be doing a web broadcast livechat from livestream.com on Monday, Sept. 6th. It begins at 5PM German time, which is 11AM EST, and it'll last about thirty minutes.
  • I love Tim Gunn. I love him even more after reading about the dirt dishing in his autobiography Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making It Work. About Isaac Mizrahi he says ""Oh, please, I was so kind to him. I mean, I wouldn’t have the words to describe some of the more abhorrent behavior. He really is a terrible, terrible, terrible person." He also opens up about his childhood, including his "brute" father, who worked for J. Edgar Hoover, and his decades-long celibacy. Damn! This means I might have to read a book.

A cupcake goes to out Scissor Sisters guitarist (and Bear Icon) Baybydaddy, who turns 34 today.

  • Scandinavian airline SAS is accepting entries from gay couples who want to take the plunge mid-flight from Stockholm to New York on December 6, in what will be the first-ever in-flight same-sex wedding. Oh, maybe "take the plunge" is the wrong expression.
  • The entire sports world, nay, the entire world is still abuzz over Roger Federer's between-the-legs brilliance at Monday night's U.S. Open. Below you can see a comparison between this year's shot, and last year, when he conjured up the same magic. I was searching online for reaction stories, and a a big thumbs down to the sports guy who titled his headline "Federer S**ts a Winner."

  • Blabbeando translates a quote from Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete, who talks about her support for marriage equality. It seems we've had a few pageant winners come out in favor of equality lately. Meanwhile, Carrie whatserface drifts further into obscurity.
  • Finally, Bryan Safi is premiering a half-hour That's Gay tomorrow night on Infomania, and he has a special exclusive message to all of his many fans on AfterElton.com.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
