Thanks to Miz Liz for this week's winning caption.

  • Weekend Birthdays! (Note: Birthday shoutouts are for out entertainers, allies, or for any celeb that seems to have a following on AE). Tyler Hoechlin (above) turns 24, Ryan Phillippe is 37, Michelle Williams is 31, Eric Stonestreet is 40, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are both 51, and Bananarama and Shakespeare's Sister singer Siobhan Fahey is 53. Okay, time to name your top five Bananarama or S.S. songs! Here are mine: 5. "I Can't Help It" 4. "I Heard A Rumour" 3. "Stay" 2. "Venus" 1. "Cruel Summer"

  • Just a note that Sunday is September 11th, and we'll have a post that day to commemorate the occasion, in which you can share your thoughts about the the tenth anniversary of 9/11.
  • Did you know that King Hamlet was a gay pedophile? According to legendary asshat Orson Scott Card, he was. This is from a review of Card's "reimagining": "Old King Hamlet was an inadequate king because he was gay, an evil person because he was gay, and, ultimately, a demonic and ghostly father of lies who convinces young Hamlet to exact imaginary revenge on innocent people. The old king was actually murdered by Horatio, in revenge for molesting him as a young boy—along with Laertes, and Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern, thereby turning all of them gay."
  • Kate Winslet in V Magazine: "I like the diversity that my children are exposed to every day. I love the way their brains work. Joe [her son] turns to me the other day and says, ‘One day, I will have a girlfriend. But I might have a boyfriend. If I’m gay.’ He’s 7! And I said, ‘You might have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, darling.’ And he said, ‘Which would you prefer?’ And I said, ‘My love, that would be entirely up to you, and it doesn’t make any difference to me.’ But that he knows! It’s a real privilege. Talk about the best education.”
  • The new season of Dexter premieres Sunday, Oct. 2nd at 9 PM ET on Showtime, and below you can get to know some of the season's new guest stars, including rapper Mos (who has apparently dropped the Def) and a creepy Colin Hanks.

  • Speaking of, Anderson's talk show debuts Monday (check local listings), and Kathy Griffin will show up on Tuesday's show. You can watch a quick preview below.

  • Below you can see a preview of Monday's The A-List: New York, as Reichen reveals the name of his new fragrance.

  • Finally, a special 49th Birthday shoutout to one of the greatest teen stars of all time, Kristy McNichol! Here's hoping your weekend ends with a Happy Ending!
