AfterElton Briefs: George Takei is a Musical, Christian Siriano is an Asian Lesbian, Cinema's Hottest Soldiers, and More!!

Plus the "Proud" HRC collection, GLAAD responds to that rapper, PETA picks some winners, and Roger Ebert is reviving At The Movies

Here's last week's caption pic winner. This week's caption pic is at the bottom of the page.

Thanks to everyone for participating! And the winner is ...

After gorging on the huge buffet, all of the passengers felt totally stuffed.

Thanks to David in Houston for this week's winning caption.

Forget the necklace, I'll take the guy wearing it.

  • Designers Alex and Chloe have released their "Proud" collection for the Human Rights Campaign, just in time for National Coming Out Day, October 11th. The collection features a custom dyed t-shirt with eight screen printed activist buttons, and a necklace featuring a laser cut black acrylic "equal sign" pendant.
  • A couple days ago we told you about some rapper named 50 Cent who sent out a homophobic tweet. Now GLAAD has issued a Call to Action, asking people to let him know how you feel via Twitter.
  • Below you can see a clip from last night's The Daily Show that looks at how The Supreme Court might rule on Prop 8 ... if they were all "guidos."

  • I had absolutely no desire to see I'm Still Here, the "documentary" about Joaquin Phoenix and his alleged meltdowns and retirement from acting. Andy Kaufman did that schtick much better. But now that the L.A. Times has declared that it has “more male frontal nudity than you’d find in gay porn.", well my interest is ... piqued. But I'll just wait til the clips show up online.
  • Wanda Sykes talks to the Orlando Sentinel about her shock at the cancellation of The New Adventures of Old Christine and the inexplicable Emmy loss of her superior stand-up special "I'm a Be Me" to ... The Kennedy Center Honors.

Domo Arigato, Christian Siriano

  • Icon George Takei is readying a musical loosely based on his memories of being thrown into an internment camp when he was 5 years old. Allegiance will star George and the fabulous Lea Salonga, with the hope that it can reach Broadway in 2012.

  • A couple of weeks ago, I lamented the fact that At The Movies had gone off the air after thirty-five years. Now it turns out that I may spoken too soon! Roger Ebert has announced that he's reviving the show, and it will go back to its roots ... on PBS. It will still have two dueling critics, will keep the "thumbs up and down," and best of all will feature Roger's computer voice in a segment titled "Roger's Office."
  • Finally, Ellen's show returns next week, and she's been making the usual media stops to promote it. Last night she closed the Richie Rich fashion show in NYC.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

Here's your caption pic for the week. Drop your caption ideas in the comments (And please remember to keep the captions PG-13!)
