AfterElton Briefs: Bette Loves "Priscilla," A Sneak Peek at "Rocky Horror Glee," Jaime Sommers Gets Her DVD Due, and More!

TR Knight at the opening of A Life in the Theater last night in NYC

  • Singer Gavin Rossdale has revealed that he had a relationship back in the 80's with UK drag singer Marilyn. I'd question his taste, but he's also as big a Feberbear fan as I am, so obviously his taste is impeccable.
  • We've all seen scores of the "It Gets Better" videos, but below is one of the most powerful I've come across. It's Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns opening up about his own struggles with bullying, and his message of hope for gay kids.

  • On the flip side, below you can see a parody video showing how "It Gets Worse" ... for the bully. (Warning - strong language)

  • The finalists for the 2010 National Book Awards have been announced, and it includes Just Kids, Patti Smith's remembrance of Robert Mapplethorpe, and Secret Historian: The Life and Times of Samuel Steward, Professor, Tattoo Artist, and Sexual Renegade, a biography of the gay pioneer.

  • Glee will be off next week, but the week after is the much anticipated Rocky Horror episode. here's a sneak peek.

  • Below you can see Dan Savage and former Governor Jim McGreevey talk with Joy Behar about Carl Paladino and the culture of hate.

  • Finally, I have big news. Huge news! News I've been waiting years to hear. October 19th will see the long overdue DVD release of Season One of The Bionic Woman! Here's what to expect: All 14 episodes of the first season (it was a mid-season replacement), plus the five episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man that first brought us the story of Jaime Sommers (who was a pro tennis player until a skydiving accident led to her bionic surgery, that led to her death. She proved so popular, however, that they brought her back to life).
  • Extra features include an hour-long interview with star Lindsay Wagner, audio commentary by creator Kenneth Johnson, and a blooper reel.
  • The episodes in the first season aren't as campy as the later seasons with the Fembots and Bigfoot, but they're still a lot of fun. You get to see Jaime compete in a beauty pageant (and sing "Feelings"), we get our first glimpse at Jaime's evil double (which won Lindsay the Emmy), and below you can see Jaime help a Native American kid out of a rocky situation. It's a must have!
