AfterElton Briefs: Adam Lambert's True Hollywood Story, Maggie Gallagher Invades Australia, and "Glee" Casts Mercedes' Dad

Adam deserves a more throne-like chair.

  • Adam Lambert has sat down with E! for his own E! True Hollywood Story. Access to Adam, his brother Neil, and their mom and dad will give a no holds barred view of his journey from playing Linus in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown to his current Glamnation tour.
  • A London school claims to have eliminated homophobia on campus by teaching gay history, which makes sense. It would never work in the United States because conservatives would claim that children were being "indoctrinated into the homosexual lifestyle" and that schools were being used as recruiting centers.
  • Last night on The Colbert Report's "Indecision 2010: Revenge of the Fallen" Stephen talked about the gay trash talking coming from Ken Bucks and Sean Bielat. I'd explain more, but it would ruin the jokes.

  • David Alan Grier appears to be trading his Bones lab coat in for some dancing shoes. According to his Twitter, he's joined Glee for three episodes as Jasper "the singing, dancing homeless, estranged dad of Mercedes (Amber Riley). Does this get us any closer to Rachel's gay dads?
  • A federal judge has ordered the school system of Itawamba, Mississippito pay $81,000 in legal fees to Constance McMillen she incurred fighting the school's not allowing Constance to bring female date to the prom. Here Constance appears with Ceara Sturgis, and local hero Will Phillips in a message to President Obama from GetEQUAL. Will just can't stand still it's adorable!
  • Whoopi Goldberg filmed a PSA for Fight Back NY, and it contains her trademarked "If you're not for gay marriage, don't marry a gay person!" comment.

  • In a court ruling that flies in the face of modern cyberbullying prevention efforts, a court has ruled that YouTube bullying of someone, when done off school property, is protected free speech for which the school may not punish.
  • The National Organization for Marriage lost its challenge to campaign finance disclosure laws in New York, largely because they hadn't yet violated them. NOM doesn't want to have to disclose their money trail and is currently fighting disclosure laws in a number of states besides New York.
  • Musician Dave Koz has been a favorite of mine for 20 years, and that was before I knew he was gay. We missed his It Gets Better video from a couple weeks back so here it is now. Sorry, Dave!

  • Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough received their lowest scores ever last night on Dancing With the Stars, and Derek is blaming it on guyliner getting into his eye. "So basically, the moral of the story is don't wear eyeliner if you're a guy." Maybe he should ask Adam Lambert for his brand? Or Pete Wentz? Or any number of men who wear it for much more lengthy performances?
  • For no known reason (it's a really random clip), Disney has released the Daft Punk teaser of "Derezzed" from Tron: Legacy. I particularly like the part when the avatar removes hunky Garrett Hedlund's clothes with her laser finger, though I feel cheated by the camera cutaway.

  • BBC America starts airing the BBC's I'd Do Anything ... To Be In Oliver! Wednesday night at 9 PM, with Andrew Lloyd Weber, Graham Norton, and John Barrowman.
  • In this gallery of Before They Were Gleeks, I find that young Chris Colfer looks less like Chris Colfer than the actor who played a young Kurt Hummel on the show.

Kevin McHale is a princess / "Double Eddie" from Harry Shum, Jr.

  • Just a reminder, as you watch the Rocky Horror Glee Show tonight, tweet your comments with the #kurtrules hashtag and the funniest may make an appearance in Steven Frank's recap tomorrow. And here's a preview for tonight's episode that just came out. I see Rachel has her full beyotch on, but cocky Sam is a new development.
