AfterElton Briefs: NPH Gets Riled Up, the "Doctor Who" Cast "Sings," Who is Jessica Jones, and More!

Here's last week's caption pic winner. This week's caption pic is at the bottom of the page.

Thanks to everyone for participating! Another week of great captions, but the winner is ...

"Even I can't tell who lost the bet"

Thanks to David for this week's winning caption.

  • Weekend Birthdays: Gay fave Rachel Griffiths turns 42, and Jake Gyllenhaal turns 30. And a special birthday shoutout to Limahl, who turns 52, and earned his place in pop music history with Kajagoogoo, and with one of the greatest film songs of all time.
  • Okay comic geeks, I need your help. ABC may be preparing to bring Marvel superhero Jessica Jones to television. I have no idea who she is, but judging from the pic that I scrounged up, her super-abilities appear to include being to able to keep her top up while flying. But just barely. So is she worthy of her own series? And who do you think should play her?

  • The Spoiler Room talks with Michael Cudlitz about the new season of Southland (January 4th on TNT), and he says that Officer Cuddlybear's back issues will play a major part this year, and we should look for a "bromantic" moment with him and Rookieboy in the first episode.
  • Note to self: Never piss off Neil Patrick Harris!

  • Below you can see the cast of Doctor Who attempt to sing "Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas." I have a feeling special egg nog was involved.

  • So there's a Tesicular Cancer Awareness Campaign called "Checkum" which has UK male celebrities stripped down with strategically placed text covering the goodies. But if you enlarge the pics and look closely, you can see more of them than they may have wanted. Not that i've done that, of course.. Below is Sports God Nick Youngquest.

  • Finally, as we move into the final weekend before Christmas, you're going to see a lot of holiday specials, and I thought I'd share one of my favorites. Over the last couple of years it's pure awesomeness has become legendary, and hopefully it will one day take its place alongside such classics as A Charlie Brown Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night. Enjoy, and remember ... nothing says "holiday cake" better than Corn Nuts.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

Here's your caption pic for the week. Drop your caption ideas in the comments (And please remember to keep the captions PG-13!)
