AfterElton Briefs: Dan Savage and Jane Lynch on the "Gay Lay of the Land," Ryan Kwanten is Zappin' it to Ya, and More!

"And he's got nothing to be guilty of ..."

  • Above you can see The Other Evans with the Vampire Queen herself Evan Rachel Wood. Chris is the face of Gucci's new men's fragrance "Guilty", which will hit stores early next year.
  • President Obama will sign the repeal of DADT on Wednesday. On Thursday John McCain will begin his new campaign - to get those those damn kids off his lawn.
  • Speaking of DADT, it was of course a hot topic for the ladies of The View today, and they all agreed (yes, you read that right) that it's about time . Elizabeth takes a lot of flack, but she's always been a supporter of repeal, and Babs comes right out and says that this decision is just as important as the day the military was desegregated.

  • Here's a great little story about a gay man who nervously went to his small town high school reunion, and fearing the worst ... had an unexpected night.
  • Lady Gaga talks to the BBC about the upcoming "Born This Way" album. "A marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock 'n' roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats." Well that says a lot ... without actually saying anything.

Wonder Twin powers ... Activate!

  • Dan Savage and Jane Lynch are interviewed by Newsweek about the "gay lay of the land." Would it surprise you to read that the words "F**k John McCain" come up? Didn't think so.
  • Radio station Q104 in Halifax, Nova Scotia has agreed to change the ad line "We’ll deck the halls, but we draw the line at gay apparel," to the more cumbersome bus less inflammatory "At Q104, we’re all about decking the halls, and if the mood strikes us, donning a little gay apparel."

True Blood's Allan Hyde auditioning for The Edgar Winter Story

  • Guess what? Fox News is conducting a poll about DADT. Frightened already, aren't you? Fortunately, the majority of voters have checked the right box, no doubt thanks to Fox's answer that "sexual preference" won't impede a soldier's ability. I don't know why they felt the need to point out that the poll is "unscientific," though. Like Fox would really allow "science" into any conversation.

  • Finally, Ed Kennedy sent me this vid of Ryan Kwanten talking about his new film Griff The Invisible, knowing what I'd see the instant I looked at Ryan's wardrobe. My friends, I give you ... Ryan Kwanten as Debbie Gibson in "Electric Youth!"
