Jim Says: Travis Wall & Sexy BFFs, More Fassbender & Gays On "Dexter?"

Teddy Forance, Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini (l-r) and Kyle Robinson will show us All The Right Moves.
I’ve always loved Travis Wall whether he’s dancing or choreographing on So You Think You Can Dance. What’s this about a new reality show and when will it be on? – Christian (via email)
The series, called All The Right Moves, will follow Wall and his lifelong friends Teddy Forance (dancer/choreographer with Cirque du Soleil), dancer Nick Lazzarini (who won the first SYTYCD season) and Kyle Robinson (recently featured on Dancing With The Stars). At this point, it’s in the development stage for the Oxygen network, so time will tell if it gets ordered to series. I asked Wall, via email, how different it would be for him to have cameras following him in his own home and he replied, “It will be different for me for sure, and it will take some getting used to. But, I think it will be exciting for people to see what it takes to do what we do. As popular as dance is on TV, there hasn't really been a docu-series that shows what the life of dancer is really like.”
And while the sexy foursome have been BFFs, can we expect to see some competition on the new show? “Technically,” Wall replied, “we've been competing since we were kids on the Dance Convention circuit. Today, when I see one of the boys work on a job then it will push me to work harder and visa versa…so I am not competitive in a jealous way [but] in a way to push harder…kicking me in the ass...to constantly get better and keep ahead in the game.”
"Nobody wears a turtleneck like you, Magneto." "I was hoping you'd notice."
Editor's Note-- Hey Travis Wall fans, our own Ed Kennedy recently spoke at length with Travis about his new series, as well the huge upcoming Atlantis cruise he and Nick Lazzarini will be performing on. We'll have Ed's full interview on Friday.
Michael Fassbender is everywhere all of a sudden (trust me, I’m not complaining) but, as an actor, I wonder how he managed to go from A Dangerous Method to Shame? Such different types of movies and roles. – Robbie (via email)
During the recent press junket for Shame, Fassbender (whose looks do not disappoint in person, I must say) said, “I didn’t really relate the two together at all. It’s only in hindsight. I sort of did Dangerous Method, then X-Men: First Class, then Shame. I worked sort of intensely on the project [and] when I’m through running up to it and during it I kind of flush it pretty quickly, too. I was jumping from one to the next, so I had to get rid of them pretty quickly.
Michael C. Hall is so good as Dexter that it's easy to forget he used to smooch guys on HBO!
Michael C. Hall has done such a great job on Dexter that I forget he was on Six Feet Under. Why has Dexter never really had a strong gay presence? – James (via Twitter)
Good question and, I agree, Hall has definitely shown what a good actor he is as Dexter on the Showtime series. I asked Executive Producer Scott Buck your question about the lack of gay presence on the show and he replied, “You know, we honestly had not even really thought that way in one way or the other. Occasionally we came up with characters, but bad guys, and then we thought, 'Oh, we don’t want the only gay guy on the show to be a bad guy.' So, you know, we never really thought one way or another. Who’s to say who’s gay and who isn’t? I’m trying to think if there’s a better answer to that but it’s never like we consciously avoided putting gay characters in the show, certainly.” Maybe now that the series has been renewed for two more seasons (with season 8 likely being its last), Buck and his writers will give us a strong gay presence on the show. Surely there are a few non-serial killer gays in Miami, right?
