Brothers & Sisters Season One
The 6 disc set includes a number of bonus features, the most compelling of which is a complete episode that never actually aired on television. The installment was intended as the second episode of the series but ABC elected not to air it. Ironically, the episode is one of the better ones and, on the surface at least, the decision to shelve it is/was hard to fathom.

Just as we did with all the other season one episodes, AfterElton.com has a detailed recap of the entire episode for you to enjoy.

Cruising
William Friedkin's notorious and controversial thriller set in New York City's gay underworld makes its DVD debut 27 years after its theatrical release. Check out our article over on the main page by by Brian Juergens on the film’s re-release and it’s modern-day meaning for gay audiences. Also, make sure and check back on AfterElton.com tomorrow for a recap of the film by our Top Chef and Ugly Betty recapper, Steven Frank. Whether you saw the film 27 years ago or have no intention of ever NetFlixing it, it's a guaranteed good read.

In terms of specifically “gay” interest, that might be it for today’s DVD releases. But also released today and notable are Death Proof, which is the separately-released Quentin Tarantino written/directed segment from Grindhouse. (Was I the only one who found Tarantino’s half of Grindhouse disjointed and overly talky? I much preferred the Robert Rodriguez half of the double feature. )

Smallville Season 6 is also out for all you man of steel fans, and finally there’s the straight-to-video release, Barbie as the Island Princess. I haven’t seen it, but I’m sure if you stare at it hard enough you’ll find some gay subtext in there somewhere.
