Rosie O'Donnell delivers on cruise promise to "American Idol" castoff Danny Noriega

There are some folks that no matter how much Dramamine they take find the thought of a Rosie O'Donnell video blog post nauseating; well stock up kiddies because to top it all off, her latest vlog is set on the high seas and has some camera work that puts Cloverfield and Blair Witch to shame.

Thankfully a newly out and proud young man is onboard to settle our stomachs! It looks like American Idol castoff Danny Noriega was thrown a life vest and that Rosie delivered on her video blog promise of taking the Tainted Loverboy along.

For some reason I can't stop wondering if young Danny will be forced to sketch Rosie with nothing but The Heart of the Ocean necklace on while pounding his chest and belting out "My Heart Will Go On" over and over again.

Good for Danny Noriega! I'm glad he took Rosie up on her offer and that he's getting the chance to broaden his horizons and be exposed to a loving, supporting (if not captive) audience. Plus, he's sailing with AfterElton Vlogger and Comedian Ant and Ross "The Intern" Mathews!

    That was dreamy having Danny, Ross, Ant, and Rosie appear in the same video. She really knows how to use a camera. The camera angles were so spot on.

    Could anyone fill me in on Danny's "coming out?" Was he out before the show and was forced in the closet during the show's run? Is did coming out for the very first time? I hope that everyone, including Rosie and the ANT guy are not assuming what looks to be obvious without there having been a public declaration on his part.

    I don't want to jump to conclusions regarding how out he is and this has moved so fast that I don’t really know the trajectory. This got me thinking about Rosie standing up for Clay Aiken, and how all that backfired on poor Rosie. These are obviously very different stories, but I think that she meant well both times.

    I hope that his coming out took place before this cruise and that she does not wind up getting beat up for not following every media munual and running with her emotions as that is one of the things that makes me like her even when she messes up. It's never based on trying to be savy, just following what seems to be a huge heart.

    Danny came out in a video with an impromptu rap; he says, "I got my do-rag, cause I'm a mother fuckin' fag, and I don't give a shit what you have to say, Yeah, I'm gay, but you eat hay for dinner 'cause you look like a horse, bitch." That could be taken as just a song, if you wanted to.

    I've read rumors that he had listed himself as gay online on Myspace but that was changed after he got on the show. However, that could have easily been faked, and until Danny admits it, it seems like a moot point.

    Rosie invited him to perform on the cruise and he is shown in this video as accepting along with his cousin who may be gay. Ant loves the fact the Danny was so "out and proud." But Danny doesn't comment on this nor does he say he is gay, which I assume is part of his AI contract.

    I assume that American Idol makes contestants sign a 'gag' contract that not only will they not mention they are gay but they will never mention any of the terms of the contract. Since being voted off, he hasn't stated that he is gay and has been mute when people have inferred it in interviews. Since he might be an alternate on the AI tour, I assume that his contract would last until after that tour. I'm sure that they have an option to record him for a CD, which they would do if he suddenly became famous enough even though he didn't win.

    Hearing all that out and proud stuff (although not an ANT fan here) and all the implicit gay acceptance was great; however since I did not remember him ever coming out, I did some leg work and came up with no reliable sources.

    You are probably correct about the gag order, so I hope that Danny gets to have his cake and eat it too. God, I hate that expression, but I hope that he gets to milk this for all that he can as it shows that the world is bigger than the AI legal/marketing machine. If he can be embraced by Rosie, have others say what he may not be able to, while still able to collect on the cash the should not be denied to him based on his sexual orientation, all I have to say is: Go Danny.
