Liveblogging "As The World Turns" : Damn That Rattle!

If you followed Thursday's Liveblog you know that I missed the entire show due to local news idiots. Thanks to our soap guru Anthony Langford's video recaps I was able to get the gist of what happened.

Starting with the most unfortunate pop-up in history.

Then Reid has this chilling admission about his toothbrush "It was in the right slot facing right. I always keep it in the left slot facing left." You know, there's a fine line between "rigid and methodical" and ... Sleeping with the Enemy.

Reid and Luke have a hot moment, leading to ... could it be? Is this "the moment?" Wait a minute, what the !@#$% is that?

Aah! It's the cursed baby rattle! The last time we saw it was when Baby Sierra played with it after Fish won custody on One Life To Live.

And we all know what happened after that.

Someone needs to find it and kill it! Kill it with fire! Or at least make sure it isn't left in Reid's car.

2:05PM EST: Future ex-spouses Casey and Alison are having an awkward dinner prep when she runs upstairs and raids Casey's goodie drawer. No, not that goodie drawer, his snack drawer. FYI, Casey loves kettle corn. Alison finds the engagement ring that his grandmother gave to him. Apparently, it's for "his one true love."

What do you suppose is in Casey's other goodie drawer? KY "his and her" lotion? Handcuffs? A Luke mask? Nah, that's just wishful thinking ... or is it?

Chris FINALLY tells Katie he has heart problems, and may need surgery. But there's hope! John Dixon is back in town at Reid's insistence.

Bob and Kim run in to John, and he tells them that he's here to consult with Reid about a cardiac patient. They ask "what patient?" Um ....

2:15PM EST: Chris explains everything to Katie, who starts crying and has visions of Chris and Brad frollicking naked in Heaven's meadow.

Reid tries to interrupt John, Kim, and Bob so they don't start asking questions about the mystery patient, but it doesn't work. Reid says he's been trying to work on his manners, but John dismisses it, saying manners are overrated. Kim sighs and says "They could be the same person!" Kim excuses herself to help John unpack while Bob wants Reid to tell him more about his patient.

Reid tries to wriggle his way out of Bob's questions. Luckily, John interrupts and says "I'm beginning to like this guy." He pulls Reid aside and asks who the mystery patient is. Reid tells him "you'll find out soon enough.

2:20PM EST: Katie insists that Chris tell his family. And that she's sure they'll get through this. But hey, look on the bright side, she's still got that black dress in the closet. it's only been worn once.

Reid calls Chris and tells him to get down to the hospital because he's asked a "cardiac guru" for help (but doesn't tell him who it is), and not to fight him on this. Chris doesn't, and Reid immediately knows that he's told Katie.

2:30PM EST: Reid hems and haws about telling Bob the name of the patient, and finally Chris walks in, and Reid ... just leaves. Ha! Chris admits to John that he is the mystery patient.

Reid comes home, hears strange noises, and OMLG! He's attacked by Sasquatch!

2:40PM EST: Oh, it's just Katie. Reid tells her that he cares about her and the "drool machine." Whoa, Chris isn't that bad off yet. Oh wait, he was talking about the baby. He wanted to tell her, but Chris wouldn't let him. He tells her that he brought John Dixon to town, which relieves her. She rushes off to the hospital, but insists Reid come with her, because she knows Reid will tell her the truth.

Sure, Alison, you'll go to medical school. I give it six months before she's doing bi-porn videos with Noah.

John tears into Chris, telling him he's an idiot for not seeking help sooner. Reid and Katie swoop in as John receives the test results. He turns to Katie and says "you still have that black dress, don't you?"

2:50PM EST: John tells Chris he has a bad ticker, and Chris decides to get the family together and tell them at once. He calls Bob and tells him to get Kim, Lisa, and Nancy and go to Tom and Margo's house for a big announcement. Kim and Lisa, being girls, automatically assume it's a proposal.

2:55PM EST: Chris tells Casey about the family get-together, and Casey realizes he can't announce his engagement to Alison on the same night as Chris and Katie's engagement announcement. Um ... don't worry.

Bob comes in to the house with a shocked look on his face. He announces that matriarch Nancy has passed away.
