AfterElton Briefs: Reynolds married, Franco does Out, Palin needs a (gay) friend.

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • James Franco makes the November cover of OUT. He's promoting his upcoming movie with Sean Penn, Milk. While I'm a big fan of Franco and look forward to the interview, I'll never understand why a magazine that calls itself "Out" so rarely has, you know, an actual out gay person on its cover.
  • Speaking of gay print magazines, Genre just got slapped with a lawsuit by a straight male model who claims they used a "cruel and vulgar" photo of him that subjected him to unwanted gay male attention,
  • Gay-fave Ryan Reynolds (#10 on our 2008 Hot 100 List) got married to in-demand actress Scarlett Johansson over the weekend. Dang that Scarlett! She gets all the best parts.

  • Looks like Project Runway might not be moving to Lifetime after all. NBC Universal won and injunction on Friday against the Weinstein company to keep them from pulling the popular reality series from Bravo. Jossip has a handy rundown on what this injunction means for all the players.
  • No one seems to be able to locate those "gay friends" Sarah Palin has referred to, but never fear — auditions are being held to fill the role.
  • Speaking of Sarah Palin, her disastrous Katie Couric interview was reenacted on SNL by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Here's the hilarious clip in case you missed it.
Note: Apparently there are even more damaging excerpts from the Couric / Palin interview that have yet to be seen. The clips will be aired on CBS Evening News on Wednesday and Thursday! No doubt there will be something in them for Fey and  Poehler to re-enact.
And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
