Morning Meme: Cyndi Lauper Gives Back, Pat Robertson Gets Weird, and Anderson Cooper's Mudbath

Cyndi Lauper is set to open her GLBT youth center, The True Colors Residence, next week. With 30 studio apartments, it differs from the Cyndi laupermissions of places like The LGBT Center and The Ali Forney Center, who are already referring people to the residence, which will also provide job assistance.

Elmhurst College is reportedly the first to ask incoming students about their sexual orientation. It's on an optional section of a questionnaire, just like they'd ask religious affiliation in order to provide resources.

I'd like to curse Brent Hartinger for sending me Overly Specific Stock Photos, which caused me to waste a huge amount of time. It's not just the images, but the descriptions.

Kris JennerKris Jenner is heading to The Talk. The momager of the Kardashian clan is an obvious fit for a show about celebrity mothers, but pretty much guarantees I'll never watch the show again.

You can listen to a journalist whine that photos of films shooting on location are ruining the movie going experience. Then you can guess how many billion The Dark Knight Rises will gross even after we've already seen half the movie in Pittsburgh. Nobody is making you read spoilers!

Remember that BART spokesman that tried to spin shutting off cell service on the platforms? Well hackers have released nude photos of the double talker, with his arm around other dudes (and the site and article are completely SFW).

I have never heard of the comic Deadman, but it's being fasttracked for The CW by Eric Kripke, the man behind Supernatural.Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg is opening an upscale burger restaurant called Wahlburgers. What's most interesting is that they had to legally clear the name, because someone else was already using it.

Evidently Justin Bieber is releasing a Christmas album. If that comes over the speakers at the mall, I am not responsible for my actions.

An open letter to the Muppets, from someone who may be as big a fan as I am.

While I would personally agree that most of these "celebrities" detailed by Best Week Ever aren't high on my list of crushes, or activists, I don't really think it's right or funny to call them unnecessary. We need every single ally we can get.

Bert and Ernie not only aren't gay, I get the feeling Ernie isn't all that bright.

Is the media going to drag Apple's new CEO Tim Cook out of the closet? Is he in the closet? Is he actually gay? Who knows? Coming out is a personal journey, though I think most of the arguments people have about staying in the closet, like their livelihood and safety don't apply here.

Paris DupreeParis Dupree, legend of the New York ballroom scene, passed away on August 15th. She was the inspiration behind Paris Is Burning, and changed countless lives.

Here's a list of things older than this year's college freshmen, including the web. I feel so old right now, I need to yell at some kids to get off my lawn.

Malcolm McDowell and Nicholas Lea have been cast in the reboot of The Philadelphia Experiment for SyFy. Honestly, I can't figure out if this is a reboot, sequel, or reimagining.

Phineas & Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh just signed a huge deal with Disney covering a feature film, a spin-off, and new projects they create, all while doing at least one more season of my Chord Overstreet and Kellan Lutzfavorite cartoon.

Locally, activists held bake sales and hot dog sales to raise money for the Office of Public Debt so that millionaires and corporations can keep their tax cuts without impacting the deficit. They presented a check worth $1317 to the government for the cause.

Chord Overstreet is finally speaking out about why he chose to leave Glee. Basically, he wants to work on his music. Acting on The Middle was an accident, but he's a huge fan so he jumped at the chance.
