Morning Meme: Sara Gilbert Opens Up, Hudson Taylor's Extraodinary Efforts, and Is There Such a Thing As "Bad Sex?"

Athletes have been announced for ESPN Magazine's "The Body
Issue," which has athletes naked but strategically posed. I'm not a big expert
on how famous these people are, but gymnast Alicia Sacramone, snowboarder Gretchen
Bleiler, soccer goalie Hope Solo,
the NBA's Blake Griffin, MLB's Jose Reyes, the NFL's Steven Jackson and hockey player Ryan Kesler made the list.
Whitman-Walker Health and the Mautner Project have announced a joint program for GLBT seniors called People Advocating for LGBT Seniors (PALS) to address the needs of aging members of our community.
Disney Channel has gone to the dogs, literally, with Dog With a Blog about a talking, blogging canine. Hrmm. I wonder if he'd be willing to do a column for AfterElton.com
The Art of Habit is playing in Washington, D.C., and a familiar face is starring as Tim, an actor who isn't afraid to strip down to make a scene work. Randy Harrison of Queer As Folk picks up the supporting role about the sex lives of gay men over 60 focused on W.H. Auden and Benjamin Britton.
Sara Gilbert is set to address her recent breakup from her partner of 10
years, Allison Adler when The
Talk airs
today. "I’ve never been married, but I was in a long
relationship. It’s emotional for me, because we’re not together. I wouldn’t
trade that time… it’s such a special time in my life… But then you see people in
their 70s and you wonder… how do they do it? How do they make it last? And I would like to think that I can.”
The House GOP is again trying to strip NPR of their government funding, this time forbidding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting from disbursing funds to NPR. The Republicans have long regarded NPR as a left wing new source.
Brett Berk at Vanity Fair interviews Anna Faris of What's Your Number? They talk about the bromance between her husband Chris Pratt and her costar Chris Evans and her desire to play a meth-head hooker. But still not revealed was the identity of Chris Evans' butt double in the film, the man about who Evans says "He's got a great ass."
Lea Michele tweeted her desire for a Barbra Streisand doll, only to hear from the diva herself on
Twitter saying she'd send her a doll, in exchange for a Lea Michele doll when
released. Needless to say, Lea Michele is thrilled.
The Ninth Circuit has dismissed the Log Cabin Republicans' case against Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and while I'm not a legal scholar, it sounds like they didn't just vacate the stay that was in question, but the entire judgment, saying the case was moot in light of legislative repeal. Of course, it's not, and without a ruling, a future president could reinstate the policy as an order thanks to the sloppy language in the repeal bill.
Just how long does it take a premium cable show to show us the naked goods? Generally three minutes to an hour, though it looks like Showtime has a slight favoritism for boobs over man parts.
It appears that not only can't Sen. James Forrester hold his own in a discussion of the facts
about the constitutional amendment banning marriage equality, he also can't get his own credentials straight. He
evidently lies about being a Fellow of the
College of Preventative Medicine, of
which he's not even a member.
Bank of America is adding a $5/month fee to debit card transactions in an attempt to make sure they earn record profits in spite of attempts at reform in the financial industry. I've slowly been moving all my banking to a community bank, just so these too big to fail, too big to care banks don't benefit from me in any way.
Buick and the NCAA have the most amazing video up about Hudson Taylor's wrestling career and his GLBT advocacy. Such an amazing young man. Bonus: singlets!
