Morning Meme: "Happy Endings" Casts Another Boyfriend For Penny, Tom Lenk Calls Tim Gunn, and Is Chris Colfer a Good Kisser?

Veronica Mars hottie Ryan Hansen is joining Happy Endings as a love interest for Penny. He's going to be a successful-but-style-challenged Ryan Hansenguy that Penny wants to upgrade. So I'm guessing casting news about a love interest for Max must be imminent, right? Since Penny's had how many men in her life?

Academy president Tom Sherak says "I felt appalled. Oh my gosh, oh wow. Thank God my wife didn’t hear it. I was appalled." He's referring to Brett Ratner's Howard Stern sex chat, and knew Ratner had to go. If you recall, the same man said of Ratner's gay slur "The bottom line is, this won’t and can’t happen again. It will not happen again. He apologized and we will move forward. How do I know this? I’ve known this man for a very long time. He has many friends who are members of the gay and lesbian community. The apology he gave I truly believe comes from his heart. If it didn’t believe it, I would do something about it. This is about integrity and honoring the Academy Awards, but we all make mistakes and I believe he didn’t mean it." So it sounds like he doesn't quite give the same weight to both offenses, doesn't it?

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the Respect for Marriage Act out of committee on a party line vote. Well, advanced is a strong word, as the full Senate won't be taking up the bill this year or next year since they aren't sure it can pass, and the House has already said they won't even consider it.

Angry BoysHBO has moved the series premiere of Angry Boys to January 1, 2012. Angry Boys is from Chris Lilley, who previous gave us the twisted show Summer Heights High.

Ashton Kutcher, the celebrity once almost synonymous with Twitter, has turned his personal account over to a PR team after he tweeted disgust at Joe Paterno being fired from the head coaching position at Penn State. Of course, he didn't know it was because Paterno failed to properly report alleged child rape by his assistant coach. He apologized, then briefly considered quitting Twitter completely. But this begs the question: why follow a celebrity when the celebrity themselves is so far removed from the account?

I'm torn about TheOnion.com's satire on the media circus around the Penn State tragedy. On the one handHunter Parrish, it's so spot on that when I read an excerpt somewhere I thought it was real. On the other hand, it comes so soon I wonder if it isn't a little tasteless.

Is anyone still watching Weeds? If you are, there's going to be an eighth season of Hunter Parrish to stare at.

We probably shouldn't forget that new Oscar producer Brian Grazer was behind the "Electric cars are gay" movie The Dilemma last year.

The relaunch of All My Children as an online show is now on hold. Prospect Park hasn't had much luck signing the stars of AMC for the web and has halted negotiations to focus on One Life To Live.

Someone has calculaMax Ironsted the physics behind how an Angry Bird flies. This week's math experiment is all about the yellow bird.

CBS is preparing to launch a new morning show to compete with Good Morning America and Today. The plan is to bring in Charlie Rose and Gayle King and do a conversational show like The View or Morning Joe, but around hard news instead of entertainment.

The movie adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's The Host has found the second male lead. Max Irons will play the role of Jake while ironically Jake Abel will most likely play Ian, making the director's job suitably confusing. Seriously, these are their real names?
