Skeletons in the ClosetKylie Minogue in Cut (2000)
When Scream (1996) pulled the trick of killing off its big name actress in the opening scene, it wasn't lost on the makers of the Australian slasher Cut, who employed a similar character arc for pop darling Kylie Minogue, who gets hers in the opening scene. Aside from Minogue's short-lived appearance, the film also stars Molly Ringwald as a demanding American movie star and has a lesbian supporting character ... who kisses her!
Jon Stewart in The Faculty (1998)
We love us some Jon Stewart, particularly when he was working as an actor with a wonky eye for picking film projects (um, Big Daddy [1999], anyone? Death to Smoochy [2002]?). In the fun teen sci-fi horror romp The Faculty (kind of Invasion of the Clearasil Snatchers), Stewart plays Professor Edward Furlong, who is of course taken over by an alien and must be dispatched bloodily by the heroic teens. The queer quotient is actually pretty high on The Faculty, which was written by Kevin Williamson and features a likely-lesbian character (played by Heroes' Clea DuVall) and gay-faves Bebe Neuwirth, Elijah Wood, and others. Jeff Stryker aka "Chuck Peyton" in Zombie 4: After Death (1988) Yes, THAT Jeff Stryker. I actually discovered this by accident when on a zombie bender about five years ago: Stryker made a completely non-porn-related move with this 1988 Italian stinker, under the name Chuck Peyton. The movie itself is pretty wretched, but Powertool (1986) aficionados and Stryker completists could do worse than to see the gay-for-pay legend work his way through a legion of the voodoo-induced undead. Not Technically a Horror Film, but Still Scary
Matthew Rhys was in a movie called Whatever Happened to Harold Smith?, which was about telekinesis and disco (really. No, really). These are two stills from that film, courtesy of romanticalgirl at LiveJournal:
The hair and the
pants are terrifying.
One More Thing About "Vampire's Kiss"
I've been looking for a copy
When it went to DVD...
The title was changed to CAMP SLAUGHTER and I know I saw it at a Blockbuster (are those even around anymore?!) last year, so I think it's pretty readily available?
Otherwise, Amazon has it in stock.
Thanks. I've looked for both
Thanks. I've looked for both titles, but haven't seen it anywhere. Maybe it's not available in Canada? I'm hoping it'll show up in the 6.88$ bin at Wal-Mart, lol.
Did you watch it?
I actually ran into Kyle XY
